Birthdays A 30TH BIRTHDAY STAYCATION @ HARD ROCK HOTEL 3 November 2011

My parent’s gift for my 30th birthday was a night at the Hard Rock Hotel. It’s on Sentosa Island, which is pretty brilliant because that’s where the yacht party was departing from. Awesome gift or what? 😀

Hard Rock Hotel is pretty different to regular hotels because it’s owned by, surprise surprise, Hard Rock Cafe. So it’s all about rock music, moody lighting, and it’s all rather hip 😛 The check-in staff were lovely and granted our request for a corner room (thanks to our friends’ tips!). We got 2 double-beds so that Hunter could use 1 for nap-time and playing on. The view from the room was fantastic, overlooking the pool and scenery 🙂

The lobby, not very hotel-looking, eh?

That's not a nice way to celebrate my birthday!!

We were keen to check out their pool, since it was big and consisted of various pools, plus they had a super cute sand pool! On the downside, Hunter still wasn’t a fan of the sand. He did his (in)famous “flamingo” with one leg going straight up, and whined every time his feet touched the sand. Even when he sat on Chris’ lap, he kept worriedly looking down into the water at the sand, and whining each time! Chris tried picking up some sand in his hand for Hunter to touch, which he did, but recoiled back every time in distress. LOL!!

Fortunately, he was fine in the water when he was being carried (and with no hands or feet touching the distressing sand), and was also pretty game going down the water slide 😉 I suppose we have a little water baby, but not so much a beach bunny!

Sand.... sand everywhere....!!! CRAP.

EWWWW sand!! *whine*

Let's Chat!

Rylen is two and she still hates the sand. Maybe when we go to Australia next year and hit a beach she’ll fall in love 🙂

I spent a few days at the hotel too. Was a company trip. Did you find the layout of the bathrooms a little weird? There was no main door! It got a little awkward since I had a roomie hehe! Did you manage to bump into the contraption used to cart the rubbish?? It was so awesomely cool I took a picture of it! LOL!
I decided after staying at the hotel, that it was more of a bragging rights thing? I’ve stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel dammit! I demand to be now included in the cool book! – then again that could just be specifically something I would think of..hehe

Out bathroom was normal, but maybe cos we had the corner room which is bigger?? Not sure! I didn’t see the rubbish cart tho, lol

And yes, it’s rather fun to say we stay there – though not as if we did hard partying or anything, considering we had a baby with us 😉

I wonder if by staying in the Hard Rock Hotel, they’ll finally let me in the cool book?!

Then I can make my own addition to the book, of Beaker from the Muppets – he’s totally cool!
