come and visit Malaysia yourself. I personally like Penang, I think you’ll like it, too. because we are food lovers!

on the picture with the title “Noodles galore – prawn mee, laksa, hor fun, etc” what is that scary looking thing on the skewer in the background…??? is it some sort of octopus thing? or some weird food? LOL

Even if they knocked a dollar off the prices it would make it a bit more reasonable and they’d still make money!

Still, it all looks amazing and I wish I was having that sticky rice and Murtabak for breakfast rather than my yoghurt!

Ohhh I so agree.. or if they priced everything at $5, i bet people would buy tons more cos they’d feel like they were getting a better deal πŸ˜‰

The prices are normal really and to be expected really. Very disgustingly normal…. but it’s the same deal for any of the food fairs around town whether it be Malaysian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Italian, etc etc. It’s all part of the experience, like having to trade a kidney for a mere burger at the Easter Show or any Amusement Park πŸ™‚

As for the peanut pancake, I swear that damn dish has more names than Jason Bourne. No one ever seems to be really 100% sure of what it’s called! So I just call it peanut pancake and yep it’s awesome! (without corn) πŸ™‚ Sucky thing though is that it’s really hard to find places that sell it thin and crispy now. Most places sell the thick floury version which isn’t as nice. Easiest place to get your fix is at Jollibean. Sadly…. πŸ™

I reckon it’s similar to other food festivals but is still more painful ‘cos I know the real prices back in SG. Don’t even get me started on those shows – i have a love/hate relationship with them πŸ˜‰

Have you had indonesian martabak? It’s the doughy version drenched with chocolate, cheese, butter… I reckon you’ll love it πŸ˜‰
