Had a quick lunch in the Chinatown area. I’d decided I wanted some BBQ Pork & Wonton Noodles. Just as they finished cooking up my order, I panicked and said “Ooooh! I actually wanted it dry!” since I’ve now discovered I much prefer the dry version than soup noodles. To my relief, then nice guy there smiled and said “Yeah it’s all dry”. WHEW!!
Disaster averted, I happily mixed in the sambal chilli with the noodles and added a few scoops of soup. It came with BBQ pork, 3 fat little wontons in the soup, and the obligatory veggies. I liked the noodles, they weren’t too salty and had a nice bite. The BBQ pork (“char siew”) was really thinly sliced, just the way I like it! And the wontons tasted great, all meaty and juicy. Had my meal with a Chilled Soya bean drink, which I always crave whenever I’m in Australia! Yum :)~

Mum and I also got hair cuts at Shunji Matsuo, this ritzy Japanese hair salon. Amusingly, it’s considered really $$ in Singapore, but the price is the same as el cheapo/crap hairdressers in Australia! And people wonder why I never cut my hair in AU.. I’d rather get my yearly (!) haircut in Singapore! Anyway, our hair cutter/stylist was Qing and she was fab. She really took the time and effort to cut our hair and we’re really pleased with both our cuts. Mine’s slightly shorter (I told her I wanted to keep the length) and layered so it’s bouncier. Mum’s is pretty drastically different – she has that sort of really trendy futuristic bob, like the one Charlize Theron had in Aeon Flux. Short and bobbed at the back, then tapered down towards the face. It’s cool!! Ummm no photos but you can kinda see it in future photos of us π
Hehe I’d keep the bean cup just because it’s cute…

Food yes I love! Can not wait to see the pictures of you and your mom I know both of you are enjoying the new looks!
I just posted pics, love the new haircuts!
I prefer my Wonton noodle soup dry too; well, with the soup on the side, so I can add the soup as I like it. Same with Laksa, though I definitely add more soup because I looooooove coconut!
I can’t believe it took me THIS long to discover the ‘dry’ version of noodles.. I live under a rock, lol!
mmmm Always after a good bbq pork π
I’m normally not a big fan of bbq pork in AU, as it’s REALLY meaty and thick. I like it done small and thin. Yum :)~

I’m on a dry noodle kick too!! That looks soooo tasty. YUMM!!
They’re so much tastier than the soup version, it’s so strange how i never had it dry till now! Sill me π
Mmmm BBQ pork! Reading your posts with all the food certainly hasn’t been helping my diet any. π
The least expensive way I get my hair cut – my mom does it! She’s not hair stylist, but I have simple long hair and I refuse to pay over $25 for someone to snip off a half an inch and be done with it.
Yeah it’s so annoying when you pay $$ and the cut isn’t spectacular and doesn’t feel/look any different!
