Hunter, Uncategorized GOING HOME & FIRST BATH 5 February 2011

After 5 days in the hospital, it was finally time to go home. It was a bit of an epic trip, so thank goodness Mum and Dad were around to run about and help out! Mostly because it was ~cold~ outside, since we’re in wintertime here in Shanghai. And though we got the driver to bring the car riiiight up to the entrance of the hospital, we took no chances and rugged ‘lil Hunter up to the eyeballs, hehe. He looked like a cute snowbunny! He could barely move, but was all content and didn’t flinch when we brought him outside. What a lil trooper πŸ˜‰

Rugged up to the eyeballs, about to brave 2 celcius weather from hospital to car

Scrabbleguts!

Snug as a bug

Baby hiccups are the cutest!

We also did our first bath the other day. It wasn’t as crazy as we’d imagined, and Hunter was relatively calm throughout, albeit a little bewildered. Freshly-bathed baby smell? Ohhh sooooo intoxicating! I think there’s something about boob milk that makes babies smell so divine, I could gobble him all up πŸ˜›

Ta daaaaa! Fresh as a daisy!

The picture of Hunter in his car seat he definitely looks bigger than a newborn! Will you guys have that one month party for babies on his first month birthday?

Heh yeah.. people all think he looks like a 1 month old. Ah well!

We will have that party but when we’re in SG, which will be in May, so it’ll be more like a 4 month party, haha

Belated congratulations on your huge bundle of joy, he is so gorgeous! And both of your birth stories, they were the most detailed and eye opening I’VE ever read… you’re crazy and absolutely inspirational! From your commitment to such a tough exercise program to the birth and everything =)

Oh and my mother in law who came from China to help, she had my baby wrapped in booties, mittens, beanie and blanket in the middle of summer, much to my horror hehe good to see you’re not following all those old wives tales.

Aww thanks! I’m all into reading birth stories now, never used to before, hehe.

Ohhhh that is SO common in China! Our doc actually warned us about it, and said often they overheat their babies. She told us to be careful cos too many layers on a baby actually increases the risk of SIDS :X But I guess it’s a cultural thing!

haha First pic is so cute! it’s like he’s thinking “what on earth has my mum and dad done to me? I can only move my eyes” and yay for Peter rabbit toy in his crib!

Wow, amazingly cute, great pictures. I might have to get me one of those! You seem pretty calm about suddenly being a parent too. I guess looking after ferrets was good training!
