Took a leap of faith and decided to colour my hair (base + highlights) for the first time in my life… a pretty scary thing to do considering I’d never done anything dramatic in terms of colour for my hair, and I was doing it for the first time in China. So I decided on the Ritz-Carlton Hotel’s hair salon.. a move I decided was worth the money since I figured I’d be guaranteed (hopefully!) to have an awesome result. I figured if I wanted to start colouring my hair, what better time than for the wedding and honeymoon, right? 🙂 The manager, Stephen, a Londoner, did my hair. He was very knowlegable and made me feel really comfortable entrusting my “virgin hair” (his words, not mine!) to him.

Incredibly, my natural/virgin hair colour is a #5 / brunette on the international hair colour chart. I definitely would not have picked that! And so we decided to take me 2 shades lighter to a #07 / dark blonde. I was a bit (okay, very!) nervous about the “dark blonde” term, but he reassured me that it was correct for me so I went ahead with that. Also, added 2-3 different colours of light highlights scattered through my hair.

2 hours later, emerged with AWESOMELY COLOURED HAIR!!!!!! It’s not very light or obvious indoors, but shines a warm gold in the sunlight. So nice! I’m addicted to multi-shade hair now 😛

Totally worth it and I want to do it again once it grows out 😉
