I was invited to attend the 2008 IAB Australia Interactive Advertising Awards last week – a big shinding for folks in the marketing and advertising industry. It’s one of the largest events of the year, with all the key people you’d want to know 😉 Held at the Star City Casino, I was impressed with the pretty sparkling lights and the food wasn’t too bad either. I opted for the Mango and Chicken salad flavoured with sweet fish and coriander dressing for my entree and the Seared Tasmanian Salmon fillet with pesto and potato mash, broccoli florets and mimosa vinaigrette as my main. Fabulous! Dessert was a tier of assorted cupcakes stamped with each of the sponsors’ company logo 😉

Normally a pizza place, Sourdough Sisters & Love Supreme transforms into a chic little bakery on weekend mornings. It’s a little-known fact, made even more precious by the fact that the baked goods are PHENOMENAL. The cafe smells divine, with the full scent of freshly-baked pastries in the air. Mmmmmm….. what a way to wake up in the mornings. It’s a narrow little cafe with wood floors and chairs, with friendly warm service and a simple paper menu listing their delicious offerings.

The pastries, breads, etc are all baked right there.. witnessed in a large room with dough churning away in a big mixer. It doesn’t get much fresher than that! The prices aren’t cheap considering the portions are small, but they certainly aren’t expensive either. The dishes are all exquisite and well-received into our bellies, and we’re charmed by their service-with-a-smile attitude.

I’ll most definitely be back.

Finally, leaving the best for the last….. want to know what the fab part about Mum and Dad here is? Mum’s homecooked food!! She’s been whipping up a storm.. and I have to say, it is SUCH a luxury to be able to come home after work and have a delicious homecooked meal waiting on the table. This is life 😀
