Made yummilicious Fried
It was mainly thanks to the super-duper rice cooker that Mum and Dad bought me.. seriously, it makes perfect rice. Every single time. Fried rice needs day-old grainy rice, and the rice cooker did it perfectly. Then all I did was throw in a whole plethora of ingredients.. and voila! Cheap and simple dish.
Messy kitchen bench with all my chopped up ingredients
Cooking the ingredients
Adding rice and eggs
Fried Rice – tasty!
No recipe for this as I basically just threw stuff in π It turned out tasty and looks really pretty with all the colourful ingredients, haha! But thought I’d post the ingredients I used for reference:
Onion
Red capsicum
Large red chilli
Garlic
Chicken
Spam
Carrots
Peas
Eggs
Rice
Light soy
Dark soy
thanks for sharing, now i know what’s on my menu this weekend! π
hey have you heard of Napoleon Perdi? He’s some aussie make up artist who has a line at sephora? is his stuff any good? Just wondering cause you are in aussieland…:)

my fav type of fried rice!! throw-everything-i-can-find-in-the-fridge type!!
my domestic helper at home will slice spam really thin and deep fry it first!! SUPER good! =) (and fattening..)
Hehe yeah, so so easy. And I love how I can freeze lots of batches to have later!
Oh yum, can’t go wrong with Spam!
Yeah, it’s the secret yum ingredient in food π
oh, the spam’s really pink! is it like luncheon meat?
Think so? It’s actually chicken there too on the right.. but my camera always colour saturates stuff which is why they look so pink!
ah i like! every grain looks good!
It was really tasty and yummy, even if I do say so myself. Hee!

I think I will have to get a rice cooker. I have already ruined one saucepan trying to cook rice. I cooked shepherds pie last night. So exciting! I should have photoed it to show you.

YES YES YES, a (good) rice cooker makes a world of difference.. I always used a cheapo one and once I started using this good one, the rice is SO DIFFERENT. yay!
Mmm shepherd’s pie is perfect winter comfort food……
I think the quality of rice makes a big difference too, especially when it comes to Japanese rice.
Hmm never thought about that! I just used the standard rice from the supermarket that I always get, hehe
Looks great Bev though I’m traumatised from using Spam in fried rice. I used to do it alot until an incident involving me using way way too much oil, and the dish resulting into a god awful oily disaster zone that made the exxon valdez incident look like an oil splash. The dish scarred me, my caroma doulton, and I never used spam in fried rice since. Strange how the mind works!
But still, nothing beats day old rice for cooking friend rice π If you have belachan, use it in your fried rice. Its great!!!
SOunds like you were cooking fois gras instead as it does that π Well, then again, fois gras is practically just a super $ version of spam π
