I played dress up with Mum’s clothes π She dug out her lovely dresses that she wore back when she was around my age and they actually fit me! So weird but so cool π They’re really lovely dresses, all tailor-made and gorgeous.. I’m definitely going to be wearing ’em. Unfortunately, crappy pic quality, but the dresses really are vibrant and gorgeous in real life!
Mum’s lace dress that she wore at her wedding dinner.. 33 years ago!
Mum’s 2-piece silky outfit that she wore to the office.. 20 years ago!
Mum’s goddess-like dress that she wore to ‘s mum’s (her sister) wedding.. 29 years ago!
Mum’s sexy dress that she wore at the tea ceremony during her wedding.. 33 years ago!
the green one is fantastic and it suits you so much!!!
thanks! My mum just got it dry cleaned so I can wear it soon *dances*
wow so cool! you should definately wear one of them for your wedding…nostalgia and retro vintage is always in too!
Ya! It will be so utterly cool if I wore one for my wedding hey.. but, uh, that’s assuming they still fit π

Aww thanks! it was fun to play dressup π
Now I know where you got that amazing fashion sense! π
Aww that’s really nice of you to say, thanks π
Wow! The dresses are all gorgeous and you look so good in them!
Aww thanks! I really like ’em π

pretty! you could totally pass those off nowadays…
so jealous you can fit your mom’s clothing! out of my mom’s kid (three girls) all of us are too fat to fit into her clothes. they were trendy in her generation but also trendy now!
Aww bummer! Maybe you can get them altered so they fit? I wish mum kept more of her casual/office wear, I’d love to wear those too π
Wow! The dresses are all gorgeous and you look so good in them!
Aww thanks! I really like ’em π
wow those are some awesome dresses!!!!!! remind me to rummage through my mom’s closest next time i’m there.
I’d never expected the clothes to be wearable present-day, so it’s fortunate fashion comes in cycles! π
love,love,love,love the GREEN goddess dress!
you’re so lucky! π
I’m glad my mum kept all the clothes in such brilliant condition!
Your mom was hip back in the days, I love the green dress the most. It doesn’t look like it’s from 29 years ago.
It’s back in style now, which is so funny! Empire waist is everywhere
Those are all such FANTASTIC pieces!! ♥!
It’s great that I now have a few formal dresses to wear for functions now, yay!
They are really beautiful and fit you perfectly! Like they were made for you! And they’re in such perfect condition!!
It’s pretty amazing how that turns out though, I can wear all the clothes my mum wore when she was my age because they all fit me so well.
I think clothing made back in the day are much better quality than nowadays, especially since everyone seemed to have their own tailor. Most of my mum’s clothes were tailored and they’ve all kept in perfect condition. Whereas clothes I bought 5 years ago are all tattered and torn!
It was so cool discovering that they fit me π Does your mum have formal clothes only or can you wear her casual wear too?
She has a fair bit of casual clothes. She has this REALLY gorgeous wool grey trench-looking coat (but is not really a trench, becaused it kind of flows out a bit on the bottom), and it fits me PERFECTLY and is so snuggly and warm! And looks brand new. So perfect for winter π
OMG.
the lace dress and the tea ceremony dresses = so beautiful and timeless. the tea ceremony dress = GREEK GODDESS!! ♥
I think it’s cool how around 30yrs later, the dresses can still be worn. It goes to show fashion really does come and go in cycles!
i love the green dress! it’s gorgeous!
my mother didn’t keep hers but i’m bigger than her anyway so that’s alright. i’ll “aim” for her jewellery instead
Hehe jewellery is always a winner! π Plus you can always re-set diamonds etc if you prefer a diff style
omg your mom must have been HOT when she was younger!!!!! and she had some great taste π
and omg the green dress is GORGEOUS. it doesn’t even look vintage!
i wish my mom kept more of her clothes rom back in the day! one of the only things left over from her younger days is a vintage fendi.
I love her taste, esp since it’s so similar to mine.. and that green dress is back in fashion with the empire waist , haha!
pretty! you could totally pass those off nowadays…

somehow I love the first and the last one! π they suit you really well!
It’s so cool how they fit without alterations for me.. I’m going to try an d find an occasion to wear ’em π
Sometimes I love to try on my mom’s clothes as well, my mom is still very fit consider she is in her early 50’s, you know sometimes I have problem fitting into her jeans! :S hehe abit embarrassing! π
That is so cool that your mom kept her dresses from back then. Does your mom have pics of herself wearing those dresses? So cool! *^^*
She does somewhre, but not online unfortunately!
So pretty! And timeless! Can you post some of your mum’s picture when she was young said, 29 years ago?? I think she should be a very pretty girl π
She was π But I don’t have any photos online π And they’re all b&w I think!
wow those are some awesome dresses!!!!!! remind me to rummage through my mom’s closest next time i’m there.

I didn’t pin it at the back or anything and they all fit! Was so tickled that they do π
nice vintage dresses.. π
now, i’d better ask my mom what dresses that she wore on her wedding. haha..
Hehe go raid her wardrobe too! You might find something spectacular π
They are really beautiful and fit you perfectly! Like they were made for you! And they’re in such perfect condition!!

She has really good taste.. or at least, same taste as I do!:)
Wow, really gorgeous! Takes investment dressing to a whole new level.
*lol* good point, so maybe that means I can buy really $$ dresses and justify it if my daughter(s) wear ’em π
Those dresses are STUNNING!!! Especially the last two.
Thanks! I really like ’em too π it’s cool to have a few new dresses and not have to pay any $ for em, hehe!
Hmm, the first dress is pretty but I think it’d look better on you if you have it shortened a few inches. The two-piece silk outfit is also very nice!
I am IN LOVE with the green dress. It’s gorgeous!!! The last dress must look beautiful in real life, because of the colors.
Are the dress RTW or were custom made?
I totally missed “tailor-made” up there! Oops.
Mum was thinking of taking the sleeves off the lace one and shortening it as well.. it would make it more day-wear, whereas it’s really formal as it is. I like it both ways!
I love the green!! So gorgeous!!! You’re lucky to be able to inherit them.
I think the green & gold combo is gorgeous.. very Australian, haha!
wow! I wish I had such hand-me-downs too! hehe. But my mum was waaay slimmer than me.
I love the lace dress!
We were both surprised that the dresses all fit me π The 2-piece silk one needs to be altered though, as it’s a lil big.. but the rest are perfect!
those dresses are gorgeous but the green one….is sooooo pretty! lucky you
I like how pretty/sweet the green dress is π I need more functions to wear these dresses to now!
they’re all so beautiful, but i really love the green dress. that’s GORGEOUS…just one or two standout gold accessories (gold sandals, a gold cuff, gold dangly earrings…SO HOT. you can probably shorten it for going out at night by using a brooch or something to pin up one side of the fabric.
I agree! It screams GREEK GODDESS to me π
You’ve got a great fashion eye π I do agree, those accessories would look killer with the green dress! I just need to find an occasion to wear it now….. Must get a boyfriend and be asked out on a fancy date, hehe
Wow! the dresses are gorgeous..and your mom has kept them so well too. I love the green dress!
None of them were damaged or whatever, I’m glad she stored them so well π It was fun dressing up!
Wow, I love the last two, they look great on you!
I really like ’em all.. it was fun raiding through mum’s stuff, haha!
wow really gorgeous vintage dresses! very nice shade of green.
i couldn’t wear my mom’s stuffs at all as they are too tiny. she had to gave away/threw some away in the end.
That’s such a shame π You could’ve tried to alter/tailor it to fit? But sometimes it’s hard and looks odd if you do that!
i am too fat to fit into them so she threw them out when we moved house.
wow, cant believe you can fit into your mom’s clothes! theyt’re so cool and classic!
my mom made me try hrt wedding qipqao when i was 16. but she was really tiny back then, there was no way the zipper could close!
it was really surprising and cool that they fit me 100% perfectly, we were both so shocked, haha!
ooh they’re gorgeous!! i can’t believe my mum gave away her stuff instead of keeping them for me. *cries*
Awww did she? My mum’s a horder so she kept everything.. which I guess worked out well, hee!!
Those are just gorgeous!
Especially the “goddless” one. π
ARGHHHHHHHHH I can’t believe I spelled it wrongly, haha! Thank goodness for your sharp eyes π
lovely dresses esp the green one, so gorgeous!!! & they all look good on you! π
I think the green one is so nice and floaty, but I do like ’em all! π
the last dress is very trendy – reminds me of digital camouflage prints π
It was apparently really sexy for her time, as she wore it to her tea ceremony for her wedding. But I love it!
It’s amazing! There’s really a thing to be said for classic cuts! And it’s also amazing that the two of you are exactly the same size!
The cool thing is that empire-waist is back in fashion 20-30 years later, haha!
WOW! Your mom’s dresses are awesome and it’s really great that you can wear them! They are really very pretty & HOT!
We have the same taste in clothes, so I loved ’em all π
they’re awesome vintage pieces!!
Perrrrfect condition too, hurray!!

my mom made me try hrt wedding qipqao when i was 16. but she was really tiny back then, there was no way the zipper could close!
it was really surprising and cool that they fit me 100% perfectly, we were both so shocked, haha!
ooh they’re gorgeous!! i can’t believe my mum gave away her stuff instead of keeping them for me.
Perrrrfect condition too, hurray!!
wow!!! those dress are a knock out!
and you look fab in them babe! π
Aww thanks! I love how classic/timeless the dresses are
yeaps, pretty awesome!
pretty dresses! I can see where your fashion sense came from π
Aww my mum will be happy you said that, hehe!
those are really gorgeous dresses and they fit you really well!
I’m totally tickled that they fit perfectly! It’s a nice thought:)
OMG.
the lace dress and the tea ceremony dresses = so beautiful and timeless. the tea ceremony dress = GREEK GODDESS!!
I love her taste, esp since it’s so similar to mine.. and that green dress is back in fashion with the empire waist , haha!
somehow I love the first and the last one! π they suit you really well!
OMG!!! These all look so amazing! The godess one fits you totally!
You lucky duck!
I didn’t pin it at the back or anything and they all fit! Was so tickled that they do π
nice vintage dresses.. π
now, i’d better ask my mom what dresses that she wore on her wedding. haha..
Hehe go raid her wardrobe too! You might find something spectacular π
They are beautiful! Your mom is cool.
