hahaha I know exactly how you feel! I was 40.5 kg when I came back home in November last year… but now I’m 46-47 kg! Go figure! =P

I kinda know how you feel and can sympathize although we aren’t exactly in the same situation since I’m 5 years older than you and 5cm taller than you. But I’ve seen pics of your parents and I think even our parents look similar in that my Dad is really thin and my mother is not so thin (well not fat either, but yeah…).. I think it has a lot to do with getting older, slowing down metabolism and a sedentary lifestyle, that’s for sure. When I was in high school a lot of my friends already weighed around close to 50kg and I was convinced I would never weigh that much since I was literally one of those people who never gained weight. The most I weighed in high school was 46kg. About 4 years ago I weighed 49kg and I was quite happy with that but ever since I reached the 50kg mark I kinda freaked out, like you did! Like you, I also think I’m flabby in the tummy area and hips etc.. I guess there’s nothing much you can do about it except deal with it, or exercise heaps πŸ™ and I hate exercising too. I am one of those people who shock people when I tell them my weight since I LOOK a lot lighter… but yeah focusing on weight isn’t really a good thing since it doesn’t really tell you how healthy or fit or ‘normal’ you are… good luck with your quest but don’t beat yourself up about your weight too much because we can’t all be like those celebrities!

Yeah… I guess I’ve been teh same weight for 10 years, so it’s FREAKY to see it go up. Plus I’ve never owned scales at home so I don’t get to see my weight go up gradually, I just get nasty shocks when I DO weigh myself!

I’m flabby too, so depressing πŸ™ Well, exercise it is!

Hey gal, i used to think like you, until i met my gym instructor. He told me that i should do toning exercises instead of cutting back on food. I am about your height and weight 45kg, and he thinks that its still not enough. My ideal weight should be 50kg (!!!) And i wasn’t supposed to do too much cardio exercises, eg, running, aerobics shouldn’t be more than once a week. Else, according to him, i would end up stick thin and become very weak.

So i think your weight is just right, try join a gym to tone up? =)

Ya I agree.. I dunno how else to judge “health and fitness” though, except for weight loss! :X

I do have a gym downstairs, but think I’ll go for a jog outside after work, hopefully that’s enough :X

Are you kidding? Your weight now is at the low end of “normal”. Being 42kgs for your height would put you at underweight. I’m almost twice your weight.
But I guess we gotta do what makes us happy – just eat smaller portions of whatever you normally eat, and walking is the perfect thing.

Hmmm nah, actually am quite flabby and extremely unfit, coupled with a very large appetite :X Well, that’s changing as of right now! πŸ˜›

Oo how many pounds am I? I think I’m about 100lbs? You were on a crusade too a few months ago, I remember, did it work for you? I need motivation, haha!

hey hey you look just perfect now!
160cm 42kg is too skinny in my opinion…
i’m 164cm and weight over 50kg (x_x) i know i need to do something about it, but i’m just too lazy :p

I think you can’t really judge height vs weight.. ‘cos some girls my height weigh a lot more than me, yet we look the same size! I have reaaaaly light bones :X

Comparing’s impossible! I know lots of girls my height but weigh 10kg more than me, yet we look the same size.. it’s all bone density and all that that needs to be taken into account. You are super thin AND really fit.. I don’t think you have anything to worry about πŸ˜›

Hey 42 is kind of light. Not too sure what’s your height though. I’m 1.58m and weighs from 44kg to 45kg. Am working to put on more weight still. I was 50kg at one point of time when I was still in school and was pretty glad that time. I like being slightly plump. Makes me look healthier.

48kg is very light. Dun be too obsessive over weight. Most important is to be healthy and eat moderately.

Dun be too skinny and let the wind blow you away ! hahaha

42kg?!?!?! I’m 42 kg!! Well, I think I’m 42kg? Anyway, my goal is 44kg, coz that’s what I used to be until I lost a whole heap of weight when I was 18 (I suddenly dropped to 38kg in one month, that was pretty scary). I love weight! It would make me look much more womanly πŸ˜€ I always like wearing clothes that make me look fatter πŸ˜›

Wait a minute… aren’t you like more than 10cm taller than me?! People think I look too skinny! And I think you look really good with your current weight! Oh well, different body size priorities I guess πŸ™‚

Ooo let’s swap, haha. I’m 160cm and OVERALL i like slim.. but really, I have a pot belly and am quite flabby. Trust me.. I could do with looking a bit more lean πŸ™‚

You’re only 160cm? I thought you were 165m! Well I’m 155cm, so I guess you’re not more than 10cm. And I have a belly overhang too, I love it! πŸ˜€ I’m always slapping it because it’s so fun. Hehe

180cm would be a bit too much :ΓΎ You wouldn’t be able to wear sky high heels! Well, you could, but then you’d be way too tall and freaky. I don’t mind being short anymore! Except for the fact that I can never find pants that I don’t need to take up. Oh well…

Bellies are fun to play with! πŸ˜€ My bf is always giving me funny nicknames about my stomach. Just the other day he called me porkchops, and then he called me beefcake :ΓΎ

Did you know that Kylie weighs 50kg?? She’s my height and she has smaller bone structure, but she has SO much muscle! I wish I could be like that. Sigh. Need exercise.

I guess i”m so short I like to be tall, haha

Wow, but yeah, muscle does weigh more.. I suppose it’s not the weight loss that I’m that concerned about, it’s really just being fit and healthy, but I dunno how to measure it other than this!

I think for you – its just cutting back portions. When you post photos of how much you and Chris eat , its kind of overwhelming. Good for you for setting a reasonable time frame.

My goal is 40kg! Like you, I’ve gained weight…my normal weight was 42kg, then it went up to 44. I’ve this stinky feeling I weigh more than that now. The scale couldn’t have lied, my eyes couldn’t be deceived! I kept weighing myself in disbelief. ARRGH.

Bev, would running make your legs fatter? Any idea? What benefits does running bring, does it just keep you fit or help you lose certain bits of fats at a particular part of your body?

yayyyy let’s do it together!

I have no idea about what exercise to do, but jogging is the only thing I can think of, so I’m just doing that πŸ˜›

I’ll still take pics and eat, I promise hehe, just will eat a whole lot less!

The body retains a lot of water weight too, and naturally you’ll weigh slightly more after a large meal than before. I’d still call you 46kg (whatever that is, sounds frightfully light!)

The whole measure of under/overweight is totally falsified IMHO! At 46kg, I’m still considered underweight for my height, but I certainly don’t look it. I used to be 40kg for most of my life, so 42 is reasonable, I think πŸ™‚

I will tryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to be more healthy….. :X
