Try Bestway travel in Chinatown. I know most of the Singaporean students in Sydney used them as they do cheap SIA tickets.

Maybe you should just go with another airline? I know it seems like a waste when you have frequent flyer points to consider, but if you’re going to save hundreds of bucks, you’re probably better off with the $$ than the points. Just a thought…

You could always try lastminute.com.au, as well.

Anyway, good luck!

Priceline? Chinatown?

You can try Priceline, though that would be pretty last minute. Have to take your chances. Travel agencies in Chinatown(s) offer pretty good rates as well. At least for in Melbourne. Worth checking it out =)

Re: Priceline? Chinatown?

Priceline? I thought they sold body/hair stuff and that? Good idea bout agencies in Chinatown though… it’s so annoying how air fares are so expensive these days ;(

Re: Priceline? Chinatown?

hahah, not that priceline. Try http://www.priceline.com.sg. They have pretty good deals at times. Mainly because travel agencies order in bulk, and sometimes there are leftovers, so they are sold very cheaply. You can state your asking price. If its reasonable, they will send it to you. Am not too sure if they have a ticketing office in Sydney. But my friend ordered here back in SG and it was couriered to her! We were very impressed =) HTH!

Sorry can’t help with where to look for cheap tickets.
But I can tell you that Easter, unfortunately is peak season, so it will be extremely difficult to find cheapish fares.

I’m flying down to Melb to see my family at Easter, costing an arm and a leg from NTH QLD, but I’d rather pay the price to spend the time with my family rather than being depressed at home by myself.

4 days off work is too many to waste doing nothing.

Anyway probably none of that helped. Just commenting.

Yeah I figured as much.. that Easter would be $$ to fly! πŸ™ Even domestic fairs are WAY more expensive these days… it’s cos of the flights that are all getting cut down :T

I don’t think you can get cheap tickets. Even student tickets to Singapore nowadays cost quite a bit, especially during holiday season. And Qantas is not all that cheap, you might want to try Emirates too. There are cheaper airlines, but they are the more dodgy ones. SIA is still the best. πŸ™‚

Ughhhhhh… I hear Virgin has good rates, but the thing is I have Frequent Flyers with Quantas so I always travel with them. It looks like ti’s about $1000 for a return flight πŸ™

yeah, probably around there. i paid $1200 back in dec coz it was peak period. air tickets are getting more and more expensive. i remember i used to only pay around $800 for SIA.
