Go Bev! That’s awesome… sounds like you’ve got the job! =)
Hey! It sounds like you’ve def. got the job —
I was thinking, if they have visited your web domain, then chances are they visited your live journal too – you have links on both right? That mean they can see what you write about the interview, and how bad you want this job ?? hahaha….that might be weird huh?
Heh, no.. I thought about that and took away the link to this journal π but I guess even if they saw this, maybe they’ll think “Jeepers, this girl obviously really wants this job!” and give it to me, bwahahah! π
I’m sure you will get the job.. sounded like you had a great interview. Don’t worry!
I’m sure you’ll get the job Bev. You’ve such a great personality to compliment your outstanding programming skill.
good luck, i hope you get the job π
i tried learning perl over the summer, but it still hasn’t clicked in yet. programming doesn’t make sense to me :\
Try python or smalltalk?

i got my fingers crossed for you π i do know what it’s like, because that’s how i felt about Estee Lauder when i was wondering if they’d offer me the internship (which i’ve been doing for 10 weeks now!). now i’m waiting to hear back from them, to see if they’ll hire me during the school year as a real employee!!!
good luck π
Ooo an internship at Estee Lauder? You lucky duck!! What do you do? It’ll be awesome to work for a cosmetics company too, I definitely wouldn’t mind that π
well actually, EL Companies tends to hire employee referees…i.e., i was referred by a really close friend of my dad’s who is now the managing director of EL Companies in Taiwan. he was a finance director here in NY, and i’d mentioned i was looking for an internship. he passed along my resume (which is pretty extensive in itself) and before i knew it, i was hired π
i work in fragrance marketing…basically, my department comes up with the marketing strategies and new ideas for fragrances for Estee Lauder fragrances, like pleasures (and the new pleasures intense which is coming out in Asia in september…go check it out!), Beautiful, Intuition, and the rest. besides dealing with the financial aspect of the business, i’m also responsible for coming up with concept write-ups and visuals for the strategies. it’s really cool, and because there are so few people in my department, there’s always a ton to do, and i’ve never been put on coffee-making or photocopying duty, like so many other internships i’ve heard about. and the best part about working for a major cosmetics conglomerate is the HUUUUGEEEE discounts you get on ALL their products + those of the companies that they own…up to 50% off !!!!!!
BTW, sorry to hear about the visa situation and having to turn down Microsoft π but i’m sure being such a large corporation, and with you having made such a great impact on Mark, they’ll remember you for the future. be sure to get back in touch with him just before graduation. but i wouldn’t worry about it too much if i were you…take a deep breath and just bide your time…you just *might* wind up working for them down the line π
That sounds like an incredible job, you’re lucky! I’d love to work in something lik ethat.. maybe someday. And I’ll go to MS straight after I gradute, so hopefully they’ll still remember me, heh.
Oh, I would *love* it if you could get me 50% off on stuff! Do you have access to all the products in the line? I’ll have to go through their website and see what I want.. will get back to you π About the Stila SG palette, it’s SG$60 but if you spend SG$90 you get a free Stila tote bag.. not sure if you want to take advantage of that offer?
i have access to most of their products in the line, except for the stuff that was just released this season. and i saw the pics of the tote, which i really don’t care for, so i’ll be happy with just the palette π
