My fave’s def just with the curry.. mmmmm… someone needs to start a stall like that in Sydney for reasonable prices!

“a nice hot bowl of Bee Tak Mak, I love this stuff!”

I think it’s actually Mee Tai Mak…

“Laksa, because this is what proper laksa REALLY tastes/looks like.. not like the shite we get here”

I don’t know where you’ve been eating Bev because the standard of Laksa’s available in Sydney is actually pretty high. We don’t get the variety of different laksa’s that is available in SG/MSIA (Curry, Penang, Assam, etc), but what we do which is the normal Nonya Laksa is actually pretty good. And generally speaking, *almost* all Nonya laksa’s regardless of taste tend to look the same!!!

“Arghh I forgot the name!! It’s this stir fried stuff in soy sauce?”

It’s “black” Chai Tow Kway” fried with sweet soy sauce, as opposed to “white” Chai Tow Kway fried without.

You are soooooooooooo not Singaporean Bev!!! Just give it already!!!! πŸ™‚

BLECH! I really only like Katong laksa so the nonya stuff doesn’t do it for me at all… but I’ll eat it if I crave laksa too much.

I KNEW it was chai tow kway and knew it had soy sauce at least!!!!! Momentary mental blank, that’s all!!!!!!

Lol…Katong Laksa is basically Nonya Laksa but just with cut up noodles πŸ™‚

Personally for me, I prefer all my Laksa’s with Hokkien Mee!!! Let the purists scoff!

my goodness! I absolutely love laksa!!! yours look soo good :9

am amazed how much food you are able to eat during your short stay.. more importantly, am amazed how you manage to stay so slim!!!

Ahhh I did put on weight though, it’s sad that the weight keeps piling on as I get older πŸ™ Gotta start eating less now!

yeah, all the travelling can do this to one. esp with the horrid flight to Prague. But know what, with additional stress & tiredness, weight gets lost.. which makes up for all the foodies in sg πŸ™‚

Oh that’s it!!!!! Arghhh so hard to remember the name πŸ˜› I can’t find it in AU, it’s so sad πŸ™

Ehhh my cousin will know, try asking her. I forgot the name but it’s in the shopping centre near Boat quay i think……?

ooh oh oh those deep fried peanut toast looks extremely good!! i have been eating those ramen, soba, osushi everyday now..hehe cos im in Osaka right now for a month!! im trying to eat as much as i possibly can cos i know after the summer i wont be able to get these kind of cheap and authentic food anymore!! πŸ˜› hehe

What’s Japanese cheesecake like? It looks REALLY YUMMY and not like cheesecake at all! hehe.

Have fun in Singapore πŸ™‚

You’re right it’s quite different! It has a mild cheese taste but is really fluffy, not that ‘heavy’ American cheesecake texture. I love both πŸ˜€
