Ahhhhh.. today was.. eventful.
First was the Multiple Sclerosis 8km charity run. Got up at 6:30am (!!) to be there on time.. but of course, we were late. So we didn’t get a warm-up and ended up at the very last of the pack 🙁 I was surprised that there weren’t that many people there, and we learnt a very important lesson today: When the run is 8km long, it really ‘weeds’ out the people that do charity runs for fun. Basically everyone there really fit and kicked our ass!! At least we started last, which was a good excuse *whew* 😉 We finished it at the last of the pack as well, haha.
I was proud of our efforts though, we clocked in at 63 mins and we ran about 6km and jogged 2km. That was pretty decent IMHO and Chris was proud as he’d thought he’d need 1.5 hours! It was a REALLY challenging route, lots and lots of hills and steps – it pooped us out! Felt great though, and we were so pleased with ourselves afterwards.. plus it was all for charity 🙂 The weather was pretty spectacular – we’re lucky as it’s been freezing and raining since winter is here, but today it was clear and sunny and pretty warm.
All in all, I’m pleased with our result. It was our first 8km run and considering our previous one was 4km, this was a big step forward for us! Loved it 🙂
Breakfast before the run – feta & spinach bun
and a glass of extra-calcium milk
Ready… get set…. GO!
The only pic I took during the run, wish I took more
as the views of the harbour were gorgeous!!
Taken straight after our run, near the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Close-up. We were SO TIRED we could hardly
stand up straight to take this photo 😛
Feeling satisfied and accomplished. Yay 😀
What better way to celebrate a run than a McDonalds breakfast?!?! :)~
After that.. dashed back to have a quick shower, grabbed the ferrets, then drove up to the Ferret Social Day. It was so much fun 😀 Lots of ferrets everywhere and fellow ferret-fanatics.. it was lovely to catch up with people I’d met at the previous event, and say “hi” to new people.
Ooooo.. and I gave eBay THE BIGGEST PLUG IN MY LIFE. Haha! I had a lovely chat with a whole bunch of people that swear by eBay. “I could not live without eBay. I can buy alll the ferret stuff I want that I either can’t find here, or they charge 5x the price!”, declared a guy. Everyone around unanimously agreed that eBay was super and our ferrets well-being were the sole product of being able to source great stuff from eBay, *lol*
And the people that hadn’t used eBay before? I proceeded to give them a very quick “How to buy ferret stuff on eBay” tutorial 😛 I described all the AWESOME ferret stuff I’d bought on it, and got everyone all hyped up so they wanted to get back home and get on the eBay site to buy! Then someone said “WOW, you really like eBay so much. You should work for them” and I went “Ohhhh.. errrr… actually… I do. Haha!” 😉 I can’t believe some people out there don’t buy everything that they need in life on eBay, and some haven’t even visited the site. It really astounds me, people have no idea what they’re missing out on, or the money they’re wasting by not buying on eBay!!
Umm.. anyway, going off on a tangent here. Back to topic – it was a really great day and had lots of fun ferret-socialising 😛 Misty and Star are all zonked out now and so are Chris and I..
