I’d first spotted the Stella McCartney falabella bag in magazines, and was really attracted to how slouchy and supple it looked. So so luscious! I really liked the way it draped, and also I’d seen the fold-over version that doubles up as a nice shoulder bag too.

I touched it in real life and was SOLD. Amazingly, it’s NOT made of leather, but of man-made materials. It’s a vegan bag, basically! I just cannot believe how much like leather it is… and a super buttery soft leather at that. I bet that if you touched it, you won’t be able to tell it’s not leather. The only giveaway is that it doesn’t have that intoxicating smell of real leather.

Isn’t the material gorgeous?? The sheen is just like leather, it looks and feels just like ultra buttery leather. I also really like the chain, because it’s thick and superb quality.
On the downside, the chain hardware does make the bag a tad heavy. It’s not a big issue since I don’t carry that much stuff in my bag, but it’s also the one and only downside of this bag.
I love carrying it as a shoulder bag, with the top flopped-over, like so:
I know it’s super rare that I get a black bag, but in this case I decided to since it would be really versatile and I wouldn’t be as fearful of it getting dirty. It’s actually pretty durable and holds up well!
This makes a fab daily bag and just looks soooo luscious sitting in a sexy smooshy heap on the chair next to you. It’s lovely to stroke, but I have to admit I do crave for that yummy leather smell.

- It’s an attention grabber – 3 women have stopped me either complimenting the bag, or asking me what it is.
What I would improve about the Stella McCartney falabella:
- Make the chain hardware a tad lighter
- Include a flat pocket to pop my phone into, so I don’t have to rummage around inside

I think so! It’s def not the large size..
The hardware looks insanely heavy! But is it at least smooth? I have a purse with hardware that looks nice but tends to snag. Very annoying.

I have had a vegan bag from Gerard Darel once and yes, the feel is so buttery and soft and the bag just slouched! And the ‘leather’ itself was so light!
However I must warn you that the ‘leather’ doesn’t hold well in our weather. Do take good care of your bag because it can turn sticky, and the colour runs easily.
