Yeah, it’s weird how they play and open their mouths/nip! But as long as she doesn’t nip hard it’s OK.. do adults nip too or less?
The adults DEFINITELY nip less, IMO! One of mine nipped a lot (and hard) when she was a baby and she doesn’t AT ALL now. I think it’s because they’re used to being with lots of other ferrets and that’s how they play. They will more than likely lay off the biting as they age.
I would think about getting another ferret too, but after you get used to Misty!!

omg! i was at newtown the other day and saw some.. they were adorable! they were selling for 125$ (?) each.. is that more expensive? i was thinking of getting a ferret or a hamster..
Hamsters are cute but not in the realms of cats/dogs.. in terms of intelligence and personality. I just wanted a pet that was more, ‘conscious’, y’know? A pet that could do tricks, was smart, etc.. 🙂

OMG, I don’t wish to freak you out, but I just had a dream (a slight nightmare, rather) involving some cute, furry animal last night. Couldn’t figure out what exactly it was supposed to be, but I saw your pic. in this entry and went, “That’s the animal!!!” :O
Anyway, it was pretty scary in my dream, but your Misty is definitely ultra-adorable. 😉

Hamsters are cute but not in the realms of cats/dogs.. in terms of intelligence and personality. I just wanted a pet that was more, ‘conscious’, y’know? A pet that could do tricks, was smart, etc.. 🙂

AWW! I love ferrets, they have such playful personalities. Misty is a cutie pie. Ferrets love any kind of tube they can crawl through, if you want to get her a toy. 🙂

‘cos they breed too quickly and are a pest in a country where agriculture is so important. Rabbits/mice are allowed cos they’re already IN the country.. but for hamsters, they ban them since they don’t exist in AU yet..

She really is! She’s adorable! And her eyes are blue when you photograph her. awe…so precious….and yeah they are like a mix of animals, smart like a cat to sneak up behind you and use the litter but then smart like a dog that you can train them to do tricks as well. totally OT do you know what an austrialian bikini wax is? Thanks!

I’ve read in quite a few places that ferrets are best kept in pairs (see, eg, the Ferret Society website) cos they get quite bored and lonely if you’re away a lot during the day. I don’t think you need an extra cage or anything – so it might be something to think about once you’re settled in in your new place.

OMG, I don’t wish to freak you out, but I just had a dream (a slight nightmare, rather) involving some cute, furry animal last night. Couldn’t figure out what exactly it was supposed to be, but I saw your pic. in this entry and went, “That’s the animal!!!” :O
Anyway, it was pretty scary in my dream, but your Misty is definitely ultra-adorable. 😉

It’s hard now that it’s Mon and I have to be at work when I want to be at home playing with her! Fortunately ferrets sleep 18-20hrs a day so hopefully she wont’ be too lonely!
AWW! I love ferrets, they have such playful personalities. Misty is a cutie pie. Ferrets love any kind of tube they can crawl through, if you want to get her a toy. 🙂
Yeah, she goes nuts over her little jingly ball! she loves those minteral water bottlecaps too, and yeah, she just burrows into anything 😉

‘cos they breed too quickly and are a pest in a country where agriculture is so important. Rabbits/mice are allowed cos they’re already IN the country.. but for hamsters, they ban them since they don’t exist in AU yet..
She looks so cute as she was sleeping. The bell matches her perfectly, too. Have fun with her.
I just got her that collar – to figure out where she is in the apartment 😉
