It was a friend’s birthday dinner last weekend so I promised to bake him a dessert of his choice.
What did he select?
OREO
I don’t often make this (have done it maybe only 3-4 times) because 1) the ingredients much more $$ compared to baking other desserts 2) the pounding/beating makes your muscles really sore and 3) it’s bloody hard. The stuff I cook/bake tends to be easy stuff for lazy people π So the only time I ever end up making Oreo Cheesecakes are by special requests and usually only for someone’s birthday.
This time, I decided to use a new recipe that I put together from a mish-mash of different recipes. I’d say it turned out nice but not amazing. The main reasons?
1) I added 1/3 (!!!) the amount of sugar I was actually meant to use…. whoops
2) There was too much cheese (in comparison to the crust)
Still, it turned out fine and people seemed to enjoy it, thankfully. Chris actually did the base of it, so credit goes to him! He made the base extra thick with Oreos.. and it was a winner because everyone prefers the base to the actual cheesecake, no? π The cheesecake was really rich and ultra creamy, and I liked the texture. Except it wasn’t as super sweet as American cheesecakes usually are. But thankfully, almost everyone at the dinner party were French, and declared that French “don’t use as much sugar as the Americans”, so they preferred it that way. It was still sweet, but had the tart flavour of the cheese quite pronounced.
If you’re keen on making this, try searching “oreo cheesecake recipe” online and reading em then putting them together to make your own. Just beware- you need a LOT of muscles to both pound the Oreo cookies for the base, and mix the cheese. And it’s also quite messy (you’ll end up with cheese all over the kitchen bench and on you) and time consuming to make. But if you want something different and something that makes people go “ooooh!”, then this is it π
Excuse my haggardness. It was after pole-dancing class so I was messy & sweaty!

My cheesecake mix with chunks of Oreos
All ready to go into the oven
We ate half the cake π Not sure why it looks so yellow in the pic though!
A slice of creamy, freshly-made Oreo Cheesecake, anyone?

if you put all the cookies in a plastic bag you can roll over them with a rolling pin and voila … you have cookie crumbs! π
Hehe yep that’s what we did! But man it’s still hard work to smush them all together…
well done babe! you score!
Heh thanks hon. WIsh I’d made 2 now so we would have an extra at home, haha
you can make one again! π
I haven’t made this dip for a while but for thickening I use pluysilm husk powder, some people don’t like it but I do, its fat free and has no flavor in food if added a little, try to add teaspoon and mix it in well, for flavor, well taste check and add what ever needed you could also bake more sweet potato, mash it well and then mix it in..but its a lot more work then i would go for good luck http://uuedcalcfpt.com vfsviqbwkz [link=http://zwexayjo.com]zwexayjo[/link]
