Hope she recovers soon! It’s awful to feel helpless when there’s little to be done except hope that she pulls through on her own.
hugs.

Hugs. I hope she feels better soon. I agree with the suggestion to put her on IV if she’s throwing up so much.

Try to get some extra nutrition in yourself too, since you’re up most of the night worrying and force-feeding her.

Take care.

Both of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m so sorry to her about this. I really hope that she will get better soon, and I will keep her in my prayers. She is so lucky to have you taking such good care of her.

oh dear… i hope a miracle will happen real soon. i can totally understand how you feel, the last time my dog gave my rabbit a shock and my rabbit suddenly screamed and collapsed, i rushed her to the vet and it was a “heart attack” and she was paralysed.. i had to put her to sleep. ;(

i hope she has improved by now! πŸ˜‰ hugs

I’m so sorry! I really hope she’ll pull through. I thought for sure she might have been constipated because bunnies get like that too. If bunnies don’t eat, drink or poop, it’s probably because they have ingested fur and it’s blocking their intestines. It’s usually easy to fix by giving them fresh pineapple juice or bromelain which contain enzymes to break up the fur. I wonder if the antibiotics that the vet gave has steroids in it. Usually that will help, too. I’m praying for a good outcome!

Yeah i was so convinced she had some sorta blockage, but xrays say no and she really has all the symptoms of gastritis. If i’d known on sat i could’ve treated it straightaway! πŸ™

If she is dehydrated why don’t they give her IV fluids? I don’t understand why they want to keep forcing her to drink if she’s not holding it down.

Last time my cat got super sick and dehydrated he stayed overnight at the vet and they gave him the IV fluids, worked wonders. Maybe ferrets are too small for that?

I’m so so so sorry to hear Star is so ill. It sounds like she’s getting great medical attention. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sorry to hear about Star. I don’t think the barium meal was the cause of her vomiting, it’s likely whatever’s underlying this caused her to vomit up the barium. All the best, I hope Star is comfortable otherwise.

Do you really think so? That makes me feel a lil better..
Pretty sure she has gastritis now, just wish we knew that earlier.. sigh
