Unfortunately Shanghai is advancing very quickly but so fast that the people/culture aren’t evolving as quickly. Nevertheless, it will be a fun adventure. I hope you will have just as much time to blog your foods and shopping experiences πŸ™‚

It will be a big change but no surprises on your dislikes, that’s the way it just is there! I am looking forward to your Shanghai chronicles! Is Chris going to be working in Shanghai too?

Sorry I haven’t been commenting much! I just wanted to wish you all the best for everything ahead! Shanghai sounds like pretty exciting stuff so I’m sure that you’ll definitely be up for all of it! Don’t worry too much about things new (i.e. office) and just embrace the experience! πŸ˜€ All the best! πŸ™‚

You come across as a woman who is highly adaptive and I have no doubts that you will do well πŸ˜‰
B.T lived in Shanghai for a year odd so if you need any tips, just email me. I remembered him telling me that those cons that you just mentioned, were the very reasons why he moved out of SH. But he did like the vibrant city and fast paced of life which was similar to NYC and HK where he lived too.

Weeeelllll I HOPE! πŸ™‚

ohhh if he has any favourite food places, we’d love to hear it!! It’s our #1 priority, identify all the best foodie spots πŸ˜‰

Np. πŸ™‚ You can check out the rates on that link. Heh.
Just emailed some info to your ebay account. Let me know if you don’t get it.

Sounds like a great opportunity despite the spitting and cutting lines πŸ˜› Did Ebay offer a job for Chris too?
How does that work?

Naaah they don’t cos he’s not working for eBay nor wants to, but he’s talking with Microsoft to get them to transfer him to the Shanghai office instead, so fingers crossed!

sounds a lot like nyc, spitting in the street, fake bags, scammers, rude ppl, a giant rat race, yeah sounds right, during the winter the streets sparkle cause of all the spit. ewie i know right? take more pics!

Seeing someone spit on the street is an improvement over my friend in Shanghai who has been pushed out of her place in lines, leered at on buses and has seen men urinating in public. Though on the whole, I think she’s really enjoying her time there (I wanna say she’s teaching English at Microsoft..or some company like that).

I’m looking forward to whatever blogging you do from Shanghai πŸ™‚ It’s so amazing to see you go from gemz.net to Sydney to Awesome Job in China πŸ™‚

Whooooaaa I definitely didn’t see most of that, fortunately! it was more Chris that got leered at by all the girls, hahahhaha.

How much we’ve all grown hey?! I’tll be a crazy year ahead πŸ™‚

omg it’s so exciting to see you happy and ready for all the new challenges and everything! I’m so excited haha
I know it’d be very daunting for mee. But I do believe in making sure you experience everything life has to offer.
and don’t worry I’m sure someone like you will fit in very well in a new office!! they’ll adore you

OH! spitting is one of my biggest pet hates!! I give those people the biggest dirties I can muster and I just can’t tolerate it at all… AND the bubonic plague started with it I think

Yeah I gave them disgusted stares, but to be honest just got blank looks in return – it’s like they think it’s completely hygienic and normal, they don’t realise it’s uncivilised πŸ™

I am sure Shanghai is going to be a great learning opportunity! πŸ™‚ China is definitely emerging to be a very important economy, with everyone now depending on them to do everything to keep up with growth. Congrats once again! This is so exciting, isn’t it?

It’s definitely exciting, and you hit the nail on the head! I can’t wait to see what comes out of China over the next few years.. πŸ™‚

It is going to be an incredible experience for sure! The buzz there definitely does sound exciting. Have to say though, the spitting would freak me out too, maybe it is normal for some of them, but I don’t think I could get used to that!
