So I’ve been doing sporadic shopping for the past 2.5 weeks that I’ve been in Singapore.. mostly practical stuff like some shoes that I needed and also some shoes for the wedding. However, we did buy something cool – the sleek, pretty Canon IXUS 60! Well, it’s actually Dad’s cos he dropped (!) his camera during the wedding dinner so it’s conked out.. and this is the replacement. But I’ll most likely get one for myself too because my current one that I always use (Casio Exilim 3.2mp) is really old and shoddy, and doesn’t take very good pics.

shows up and the rest is b&w – how cool!!!!
It takes awesome close-ups – great for my food photography 😉
Today, though, was the REAL shopping 😛 It was the Isetan sale and as Mum said “Why do we always seem to spend thousands when ever we come to this sale?” HAHA! Very true, we did just that the last time as well 😛 The bargains are great and this time, it wasn’t as insane/chaotic as it was previously – thank goodness. We spent a lot, but we also saved a lot – *lol*!

I”m impressed with Canon’s macro functionality, it’s better than the Casio! But I think the Casio is better when it comes to flattering pics of people – it’s softer and has an airbrushed feel 😛

Ooh, what a coincidence. My previous camera was also the Casio Exilim 3.2mp and I lost it at this major event last Sunday. It was so packed, I was holding onto my bag which was unfortunately zipless, and I got pick-pocketed. 🙁 Sad, but good reason to buy a new camera I suppose. The Casio doesn’t take very good pics IMO, and am looking at Canon as well.
OMG I can’t believe someone pick pocketed! At least they got an old digicam though, which is fairly obselete now 😉 I still like my Casio because it’s so small and slim.. but it’s horrid in the dark or taking close-ups 🙁
Yeah, because it’s an old camera I didn’t feel so shitty. I figured that person wouldn’t be able to sell it for much anyway (to console myself, haha!). Thank goodness I’ve backuped almost all the pics.
I too bought it a couple of years back mainly for its size. It’s good to be able to stuff it into any handbags easily. But you’re right about taking pics in the dark, they turn out really blur and grainy. Good thing that most cameras these days are quite compact, leaves us with more choices. 🙂
Do not tell me that you bought the Nappa Aire series cause i want it so badly but it’s so expensive. 🙁
Nah I got the Capris ones above, they were just released this week and I like that style the best! Before that I thought Crocs looked weird, hehe 😛 They’re $68+ retail but all Crocs are about the same price :X
wow great close up shots with the new camera…does it take really good pics at night (or in low lighting) as well? if it does, i’m sold…and if you don’t mind me asking (i usually don’t, it’s so trashy, but i really HAVE to know)…how much was the camera? i’m wondering if it’s cheaper to get it in HK or in Singapore.
OMG this is so weird.. I’m JUST writing a post about asking about prices and said it was tacky, great minds think alike haha! For me, it’s only specific to brand/luxury goods though.. can’t stand it when people point and ask. But cameras seem fine for some reason, dunno why?? Anyway it was around SG$450 i believe and came with a free extra battery, and a big box with a case, tripod, etc, etc, etc. It was a great deal!!

I’m pleased with it so far! Only thing is that everything seems VERY contrasted/sharp.. my other camera is ‘softer’ so people look more flattering I think, haha
