HOLIDAYS, Malaysia LEGOLAND MALAYSIA: totally immersed in the theme hotel! 28 April 2016

Legoland Malaysia Hotel

The kids’ eyes bugged out as Legoland Malaysia Hotelpulled into view. The rest of the area is relatively barren (it’s just a few mins from the causeway to Singapore), so the hotel rises up like some sort of surreal structure as you approach it.

It’s a glistening white and with a riot of colours. Perfectly LEGO themed, and perfectly delightful to any kid. I admit, I thought it was pretty cool too!

Parking is super easy, with a covered area at the hotel. It’s not a large carpark, so get there early. Complimentary parking as you get a voucher when you stay at the hotel.

We were all super excited with the lifts in the hotel. All of theme are disco lifts, each with a different song. There’s even a disco ball! The kids LOVED it.

See? MAD. DANCING. ALERT.

The lift went up one floor from the carpark and dropped us off at the lobby.

Geez EPIC much?!

A large lobby, high ceilings, and a large LEGO castle and a pirate ship, strewn with a gazillion LEGO bricks. You’ll see in the photo above it’s really crowded. This is what you get during school holidays and just before the Legoland park opens.. everyone just camps in the lobby so the kids can play around, whilst waiting.

Fortunately, all the kids there were well behaved and there were no big kids there anyway, so my kids were happy playing there whilst we checked in.

Carter was terribly proud of this jet plane (or something?) that he built by himself. Pretty sure he could’ve spent hours in the hotel lobby alone..

Our even more EPIC Pirate room!

Now this really impressed me. The room was awesome. It was clean and tidy, and – hello – the decor seriously rocks. The kids were in awe – as were we.

The kids’ room was even cooler. The bunk beds were totally themed, with their own kids TV.

The only thing I thought was odd was that there was no super girly room, like LEGO Friends or something. I’m sure that would really appeal.. and frankly, I’d have gone for that. Hah.

Even the toiletries were themed. And, kids-sized toothbrush, toothpaste, cups, etc, etc. We loved the thought and care that went into designing the room decor and amenities.

Every room comes with a box of Duplo bricks, which comes in very handy because it keeps the kids happy and occupied in the room without having to resort to TV (I hate that thing).

Another fun bit for the kids – a treasure chest! It’s actually a big safe, and fairly unnoticeable in the corner of the kids room. So much so the kids didn’t even notice it until I pointed it out.

You solve some easy puzzles (like counting number of swords on the carpet) and the safe pops open!

Inside are bits and bobs of LEGO merchandise and stickers. So before you buy anything from the store in the hotel lobby, open the safe first to check what you’ve got 😉

I thought the hotel restaurant was awesome! The buffet is absolutely gigantic, with every international option under the sun.

The dessert area alone (above), had so many options that it was tough to make our way through it all – and we tried.

This was my Asian breakfast.. because I simply cannot resist a local breakfast over a Western one.

The dinner buffet was even better. The variety was huge, and the outside balcony area has steak, mussels, prawns, etc.. all BBQ’d to order.

Happy kids, after a l-o-n-g day out at Legoland, chomping down on their all-you-can-eat ice cream cones.
