I know *cries* Think I’ll leave this for a day, then revert back to S1 if it annoys me too much.. boy I wish there was an easy way!

i’m still learning all the little LJ settings before i start properly doing entries, and it all looks so confusing to me! just based on aesthetics i liked your old one too.
(i’m such an LJ virgin that i thought it said $2 and $1 layouts (the font made the S look like a dollar sign! :$ )

LOL! It looks like a Christmas tree. 😉 But I don’t mind it too much.

For the record, I like s2 because of the extra functionality, especially tags. And since I don’t have many customisations I don’t find the system too tricky; but I know what you mean.

Well, I do admit it’s gaudier than my previous one 😉

ARGH CANNOT DECIDE!!!!!! I hate having to make decisions, lol. Heeeelpppppp

click on tutorials, and you can actually just cut and paste what they have in there that you want! I don’t really understand the tutorials, but just cutting and pasting (plus a lil bit of customising) got me what I wanted when I was using component! 🙂

Ohhh that’s helpful! I’m trying to figure how to use my old layout (that I customsed in HTML in S1) and just port it over to S2, but think I can’t 🙁 I can’t decide if I like the old layout or this new one (since it has customised commentspage) tho! 😛

Ooh, I just got around to fiddle with LJ S2 custom layout format. All I can say is that although S2 is like a breath of fresh air from the boring old layouts of S1, S2 customising is very restrictive in changing the style itself to what you really want. Like if you want to change the comment link somewhere else instead of its usual place or input an inset scrollbar..

Unless of course, you have a paid account, in which case, you should be able to change almost everything, right?

For me, with a free account, I prefer S1 still coz it gives me more freedom to change most of the style by plonking the load of htmls in that little customising box.

So all in all, erm, can’t help much. Bleh. I say, stick to S2 and get familiar with their style sheets and stuff since S2 has got more pros for a paid account.

I have a paid acc, but as far as I can see, I can’t change everything.. not without programming :X

I like S1 as it lets you customise exactly, but it doesn’t let you customise the comments page 🙁 boo!!

To be honest… I HATE when peoples comment pages match their layouts cause then I dont get the same options (the lj menu, nav bar up top) that I normally get when I comment on their page. :\

But of course, its up to you!

Ahhh yeah it does wipe up the top bar, I never noticed it, I don’t use it! 😛

I like S1 better as my layout looks nicer IMHO, but I like the customised comment page functionality! I wish LJ customisation was simpler so we could have the best of both worlds :X
