Copenhagen, Family, HOLIDAYS COPENHAGEN: OH THE PLAYGROUNDS! 30 June 2013

HAI from Copenhagen!

The photo above is rather apt, as it sums up my sad and unfortunate relationship with cameras. I think I have either dropped, broken, drowned, lost, or had stolen every camera I have ever owned. Partly due to the fact that I think I am kind of a careless person (bleh), and partly because I treat my camera like a total workhorse. I drag it around with me allll the time, whipping it out at every opportunity and it just gets really banged up with so much use. With this camera, I STUPIDLYΒ forgot to bring it with me to Copenhagen!Β  Thus, almost all the Copenhagen-related posts I’ll be making in the next few days are using my iPhone5 camera.. which isn’t really that good especially with low-lighting and trying to capture fast-moving kids. Chris brought the camera with him a couple of days later when he flew up to Copenhagen to meet us… and I used it for ONE day before I dropped it, and now it won’t turn on because the lens is jammed *facepalm* So now I have to get it repaired and hope that A) it’s fixable, and B) they won’t charge me a fortune to do so. ANYWAY. The kids had a blast in Copenhagen because of how kid-friendly it is. They got over jetlag very quickly and slept pretty well. I, on the other hand, survived on very little sleep because Carter’s cot was next to my bed and I wake up with every snuffle and squiggle he makes.. and would take ages to fall back asleep again. They also didn’t fare that well in the closed confines of the apartment that we were in, and would antagonise each other and squabble over every. single. thing. It meant that we would just try and get out of the place ASAP each morning, to minimize fighting and also because once they were outdoors, they had a great time!

Nap buddies

All dressed and ready to have fun!

Giant baby says HAI

So pleased to see Daddy!

One of my fave shots of Hunter. So nonchalant and content πŸ™‚

His tongue. So cuuuuute I could bite it off and eat it all up. But that would be kinda weird….

So yes, the playgrounds. There are lots of parks and playgrounds all over Copenhagen, with lots of kids running around and enjoying themselves. It’s clean, well-kept, and lots of fun! This one below (I’ve forgotten the name, whoops!) was a kiddie paradise. It was large with tons of stuff for big kids and little kids! Though, admittedly, I think Carter actually had more fun since he’s a bit of a roughnut and Hunter is way more cautious and pretty much did…. ermm… nothing!

Telling secrets

Carter was SQUEALING with pleasure when Chris jumped up and down on the trampoline with him! Though…. errrr.. I think he got motion sickness from all the manic jumping, because he threw up FOUR times that evening and had us sooo worried πŸ™

My little dino stegosaurus. Hunter’s disdainful face? Basically permanently on his face the whole time πŸ˜‰

Dino…RAWRRRRR!!!!

Finally a happy grin with Daddy!

One of the trees had a hundred or so pacifiers hung onto it – perhaps ones left behind by kids??

Wild Child baby loved swinging too

….as well as being spun round and round. Hunter was completely unimpressed and wailed to be lifted off!

He was much happier playing on permanent fixtures that don’t move.

Climbing after his big brother

Having a great time running around. He even made a friend – that little boy in the background!

Hi Beverly just stumbled on your blog today and has been a pleasure reading it. Btw can you share with me where you bought the beanie for Hunter from? Too cute. I live in Perth and its cold now. Will be perfect for my little boy. Thanks πŸ™‚

I can so identify with the (overly) cautious #1 and roughnut #2 (even though #2 is a girl!). By the time Thaddeus warms up to the place or activity, I tell him to bid goodbye. Haha, that would teach him!

Haha true, Hunter takes awhile to warm up whereas Carter is all GET ME IN THERE ASAP! Wonder if many families have kids like ours…

Hi Bev, I really enjoy reading your blog. I’ve got a one-year-old boy so I can really identify with you. Your boys are tooooo cute! I love that dino beanie. Can you tell me where I can buy it for my son? Thanks heaps!

Hi, your stroller looks like a lighter version of the bugaboo. What’s it called?

The pacifier tree is for kids who are giving them up – you tie them to the tree and they get a gift instead πŸ™‚

yayy for family holidays!! πŸ™‚ everyone looks like they were having so much fun πŸ˜€ i hope Carter gets over his jetlag soon! πŸ˜›
