We thought we’d be visiting a pokey little farm, with some animals wandering around that we could pet.
As it turns out, Juckerhof (or Jucker Farm) is a lot more than that.
For starters, we were pretty stunned by that amazing hill top view! It overlooks the lake and is a HUGE area with lots of greenery and flowers. So gorgeous that my kids were content just running around on the grass and picking little wildflowers.
There are tractors and moving machines scattered all over Juckerhof, which are all in use. The kids were thrilled to see people driving them around and moving stuff, and they were also able to climb on the machines for a ‘hands-on’ experience.
First time in their lives the boys saw (and climbed on) haystacks! Whilst under cherry trees! And watching machines drive by!
Boy happiness overload.
We picked cherries off trees and munched away. Farm life at it’s finest.
The kids had so much fun selecting and picking their cherries. Pretty sure they could’ve spent the entire morning stuck under the cherry trees.
Cherries and olives. There were also apples!
Yes there were friendly (sometimes too friendly) goats there, as well as some other animals. But, by and large, this was a produce farm.
Fresh, chilled juices? Take your pick… (my kids guzzled non-stop)
We settled down for an outdoor picnic under the trees, with fresh juices, a big lunch, and juicy sweet freshly-picked strawberries for dessert.
It was bliss.
There’s also a sand pit area, complete with toys, for kids to go digging around in.
These wheelbarrows? They’re called kinder mobiles – there to plonk your kids into and wheel around. Shame they didn’t have an adult version.
This is the street leading into the Juckerhof. Complete with colour-saturated flowers galore. How picturesque is this town?!
‘Nuff said. Time for a nap.
