I heard that Angelina
The hot chocolate arrives in a little jug – thick and creamy. You pour it into your cup, then add a BIG dollop of the fresh cream that’s provided (it comes piled high!). Give it a little stir and take a sip. HEAVENLY. It’s very rich, luscious, and decadent. Filling too!
Their hot chocolate is, yes, the best one we had in France. Their secret is that they use quality chocolate, make it really thick, and give you lots of fresh cream. You can’t really go wrong with that combination π
Their food, however, is totally sub-par, with really really high prices. My Croque Madam was dry and simply unmemorable. I basically had to make myself finish it so I wouldn’t go hungry. The Ham and Cheese Omelette was better, but still nothing earth shattering. It was nice and cheesy which was good but still pretty pricey for what you get. The Quiche Lorraine would’ve been excellent, if not for the fact that it was WAY overly salted (what is it with France and over-salting their food???).
I’d go back to Angelina for their hot chocolate any day, but would pass on their food.

Mmmmm yes please to all of it! π
Oh my goodness! The hot chocolate looks AMAZING! Ah well, if a restaurant is famous for one thing you can’t really count on their other stuff to be good. But at least the hot chocolate lived up to the hype π
Wei-Wei
i regret not buying some of it to make back home in Shanghai.. doh!
awesomeness..
ohh.. Angelina! I was there with a gf back in 2008, the hot chocolate was devine. Up to today, we were still raving about it! It was so thick, I don’t think I finished up mine. We had pastry and hot chocolate there.. yum yum =)~~
Don’t forget to gobble up macarons in Paris. They come in so many flavours, and for some reason, they taste so much better there, just like their baguette, I can never find any baguette that taste so light and fluffy, except in Paris! We had it for every single meal! Breakfast, lunch and dinner.. hehe
Check out Laduree. Gorgeous setting and they have a huge range of pastries.. yum yum.. They have one in London, but I never went to that one, cept in Paris… hehe..
HAve a lovely trip! You seem to be having a blast =) Paris is a dessert heaven..
Re: awesomeness..
They really do it well hey.. we were impressed, glad we went!
I agree, the breads in Paris are just sooo good, by far better than bread in Shanghai
Angelina hot chocolate
The hot chocolate was awesome wasn’t it?
I went to Angelina last year as well because of the hot choc reputation. It was so indulgent but sooo good- I think the whipped cream added that extra something.
I dunno about the food. I think i had the club sandwich and fries which were fine but looking at those cakes, I am kicking myself for not trying one of those.
The entire week I was in Paris, I did not have ANY cakes or pastries. Lived off the bread though hehe.
Re: Angelina hot chocolate
that whipped cream on top is SO good.. every place should serve that with their hot choc.
Cannot BELIEVE you didn’t have cake/pastries in Paris, land of cake/pastries!! π
wow…. I almost kick myself each time I see your blog – food envy…..
