My review of Haiku by Hatsune appeared in Shanghai’s ‘City Weekend’ magazine.. I wasn’t told, so it was a bit surprising when I was flipping through the pages and suddenly saw my face staring right back at me, *lol*!
Oh that’s cool. I was looking through this magazine last week during lunch, but didn’t notice π Looked at it just now and there you are π If you say you posted on cityweekend site most probably they are the owners of the content and don’t have to notify anyone. Can check their Terms & Conditions if interested.
Regarding your remark above that being food critique doesn’t pay too much is not really true (of course depends on the publication). When I was looking for a job in Shanghai i saw several ads looking for food critique (native English speaker). So at that time salary was starting from 15K RMB. Plus you and your friend gets to eat for free every time you eat for the review :))
Heh it’s easy to miss cos it’s at the bottom!
15K/month is super low π I think it’s enough as a hobby-job, but not enough as a proper full-time job. I like the free food thought though, hah. Maybe if they paid 6x more it might be worth pursuing… hehe..
Would have been a nice surprise to see π
It was.. they SO should do a whole article on food blogging though, and how fab it is π

Hee ya, was a nice surprise!
Congrats… I guess? That’s really odd that they didn’t tell you. I’d have been a bit disturbed, but at the end of the day it’s still pretty cool! Didn’t you once say you had dreams of being a food critique or something like that? One step closer!
i would love to be, but unfortunately.. not much money in it – def wouldn’t be quitting my day job! π
Soo cool! You are *such* a food-lover, haha..
Heh I just can’t help myself.. esp now that we’re in a new country and city – so much to try out π
Would have been a nice surprise to see π

If I ever see you, I’m gonna need your autograph. Ever bit more a celebrity each day…
Err not likely! It’s just a little magazine, fun for me though π
I was thinking this too!! Way to go, Beverly!
they should at least put a link to your blog if they’re not going to pay you
thats really unprofessional of them
John P
I put the review on their site as well, so i’m pretty sure they have rights to use it. Would be nice if they could tell me though, then I can excitedly look out for the next magazine, heh!
That’s so funny. I reckon you should contact them and say they need to ask your permission and/or pay you!
Hehe I wish, but I don’t think there’s much money in being a food blogger, no matter how incredibly famous you get!
