Uncategorized, Yixing HOLIDAY TIME IN YIXING! 17 October 2009

We’re off to Yixing for the weekend!

It’s an all-expenses-paid trip by the local China government, and they’ve been really nice to invite us. It’s because the Autumn festival is being held there, so they want a whole lot of foreigners for the opening ceremony and for the TV crews. Everything’s paid for, but we’ll have to attend the dinner banquet, opening ceremony and some official events – which is just fine with us because we’re interested to see what it’s all like anyway, so it’s a win-win πŸ™‚

Located 2.5 hours north of Shanghai, Yixing is crowned as the Pottery Capital of China. It’s going to be, apart from the official events, a relaxing & strolling around holiday. Yixing is famous for its rolling hills and landscape, long history and culture and its folk customs. And of course, their pottery, tea and bamboo. Most of all, we’re excited to visit their caves!!!

Can’t wait!
