FASHION, Uncategorized SEPHORA GOODIES 6 May 2009

Chris was a real sweetie and picked up some Sephora goodies whilst he was in the USA last week. I gave him my wishlist, and he basically gave the Sephora SA the whole list πŸ˜› I haven’t really bought a bunch of cosmetics in awhile (or clothes or handbags, for that matter), because it’s so difficult to get my hands on the stuff whilst here in Shanghai. Most of the brands don’t exist here and if they do, the prices are exorbitantly high πŸ™

Have spent the past few days playing around with all the Sephora goodies, so here are my reviews:

Sephora haul

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer
My ‘Medium Beige’ is about half-a-shade darker than my ideal shade, but it still works.
Great texture, blends very well, and lasts for ages when set with some translucent
loose powder. Heart-stoppingly expensive though πŸ™

Benefit “Hello Flawless!” pressed powder
This one is again a tad dark, gives me a really tanned look so I need to be
careful I look nice & tanned, and not just dirty faced πŸ˜‰ The texture is beautiful
though, I use it on bare skin and it makes it look flawless. Hurray!

Benefit Rush Hour
A staple of mine, but I gave mine to Mum, so repurchased after I decided
I really still wanted one πŸ˜› It’s smooth and creamy and I LOVE how I can use
it on lips and cheeks. Great to pop into my handbag for quick touchups.

DuWop Cheek Venom
The colour is gorgeous on, and smells amazing with no irritation on the skin.
Staying power is very impressive for a creme blush, but still not as long-lasting
as a stain. A beautiful, natural glow – it’s so pretty on!

DuWop Blushbooster
Gives a fresh gleam to the cheeks, fantastic for highlighting cheekbones.
Very finely milled and looks fantastic over the Cheek Venom. I don’t think
you can use this as a stand-alone blush though, it’ll be too light.

Fresh Sugar Antiperspirant
This was bigger than it looks in the photo, which was great. Fresh but subtle,
and works perfectly. Dries quickly, and not sticky. Love love love it!

Too Faced Love Lisa luxury lipbalm
I only bought it for the cute charm πŸ˜‰ So was surprised when the balm was excellent –
smooth and moisturising, with an AWESOME light citrus/creamsicle scent!

I love Benefit’s Hello Flawless!! It’s so perfect and light for everyday =).

And I’m not allowed to go to Sephora that much lol, if I do, it has to be with a shopping list in mind or else I’ll spend forever in there.

I like it with the brush more I think, the sponge makes it a bit thick and the colour’s too dark for me as it is.. now I reaaally wanna get one that’s a shade lighter, arghhhh

Yeah cos you don’t have import duties and whatnot. Also the Sephora here has such a limited selection I can’t even be bothered!

You should totally be a reviewer πŸ˜€ I’m not a big makeup buyer but your reviews just sucked me right in!!

A bunch of years ago, out of nowhere, I started breaking out in huge red rashes under my arms. That Sugar deodorant is the ONLY one I can use which does not cause this and which completely prevents it from happening. I thought it was perhaps coincidence but I have run into 2 posts on the Net from people who had the exact same issue with other deodorants and both of them were also able to completely stop the problem with this product. It makes no sense on the surface because it has perfume added, and all sorts of other unnecessary ingredients, but I swear by this product and that bottle you got will last about a year so although it’s very expensive it turns out to be a good value for the money. Can’t recommend this highly enough, especially to anyone with super sensitive skin or allergies because it’s a miracle product for some unknown reason.

wowww good to hear that the Sugar deodorant works well on you! I’m really liking it, glad i got it πŸ™‚
