It was an Aussie girl friend’s housewarming party over the weekend, and the theme was “summer”. Now that the weather’s dramatically warmed up, Shanghai is rampant with hot young things with mini skirts and tiny shorts – and has suddenly made me realise how insanely slim and gorgeous the girls are here. The ratio of average-to-hot girls are way way way higher than in Australia, or even Singapore. It’s madness! Chris must be beside himself with joy 😉 Unfortunately the same can’t be said about the quality of guys here. A lot are short (I like my guys at least 6 foot tall) and skinny, or a bit crass. There have been some really really good looking ones though, but I reckon they’d be pretty arrogant ‘cos all the hot girls would surely flock to them!

Nightclubs are a total ego-bruiser in Shanghai too. Back in Australia I used to feel so slim and reasonably attractive when clubbing. But here? I just feel like a fat cow. So I’m very glad I already have Chris because there’s no way in hell I can compete with these girls – haha! Errrr… I’ve gone off topic. Now, where was I?

Yes, housewarming party. So we did fabulous jello shots – first time I’ve had homemade ones, they rocked. Great to catch up with friends, as well as meet new people. The expat crowd is very large, yet you always see familiar faces at various shindings. It’s like living in a microcosm of Shanghai.

Ended up sleeping at about 4am (!?) and totally destroying our body clock in the process. I think we’re a bit old for this, but the nightlife is just too fun in Shanghai to resist 😉
