Had a farewell dinner with friends at Ubud, as they’re moving down to Canberra (ie. no man’s land!). Why Ubud? Because both of the guys used to live in Indonesia and go mad over authentic Indonesian food π Since Ubud’s in Kingsford (where we used to live when we went to Uni), I automatically assumed it was a dodgy/cheap hole-in-the-wall type place. Was pretty surprised when we walked in andit was actually quite fancy!
That said, the fancy decor didn’t take away from the food – which was spectacular. Every dish we ordered was quality. The curries were meltingly tender and the dishes were really tasty and rich. Even the coconut rice was so fragrant and beautifully presented in a weave basket! A great experience, and we were delighted at having found a great Indonesian restaurant to bring friends to next time.

food, glorious food!
As I’m exhausted, I totally read that as ‘Ubud is moving to Canberra’, and I freaked out a little.
It should be illegal for the four of you to be so goodlooking!
Re: food, glorious food!

EVERYthing looks so GOOD!!! Especially the crepe, coconut rice, beef and noodles!
I thought the noodles looked pretty average, but they tasted AWESOME!! :)~
Hmmm I’m thinking we should go to that area next time we all go out for dinner!
Awwww man, but they’re all gorgeously glistening, but don’t look too oily.
I agree, we should try that area!
