Living in... Singapore, Uncategorized THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT ON ORCHARD ROAD 20 December 2007

Spent the afternoon shopping in the City, being tempted by about 1352425 different things but buying nothing *proud*. I’m trying to exercise some level of self-control (however little that may be!) since it’s Christmas and I should be spending it on gifts instead. I’ve actually bought most of my presents already, months ago, because I like to be well-prepared and not do last minute buy-everything-in-sight kinda shopping. My favourite is my parents’ gift – which I’m still in glee that I managed to think of it! Hehhehe..

Anyway, was at the Miu Miu store in Paragon and nearly had a heart attack at all the GORGEOUS things there. The bags were all soft and squishy and the shoes, ooooh!! In beautiful candy colours and delicious as anything. My bag’s there as well but strangely they’re quite stiff/hard in the store and don’t have that strong leather smell.. so I prefer mine πŸ˜€

Afterwards, we had a quick dinner then pottered up and down Orchard Road where there were tons of festivities – I was really surprised, I’ve never seen so much going on at Orchard Road before! It was jam-packed with people and loads of signing, dancing, etc all over the roads. Not to mention everything was brightly lit and decorated.. it was gorgeous. I reckon Australia should do that too during Christmas, it really brings the Christmas spirit to the City and is just tons of fun πŸ™‚

Gorgeous gold Miu Miu bag that I was lusting over in the store.
It’s incredibly buttery-soft and so so so nice OMG!!!

We were walking down Orchard Road when my aunt suddenly gave a little excited hop and
rushed to the roadside. Turns out there were random lit-up floats going down the road. Pretty!

There were about 5-6 of them, then traffic resumed as per normal like nothing ever happened

“I’m an angel tooooo!” – being a weirdo next to my normal-looking cousin

Dad convinced me to behave myself and look more normal for this photo..

Awesome Chinese acrobats. The younger girl was sooooo pretty and good at it!

Carolling outside one of the mega shopping centres

Crazy Indian dancing outside another mall. The music was awesome, heh!

Me too to be honest, ‘cos I’m short πŸ˜› But this dress actually fit me length-wise perfectly and didn’t need to be hemmed up! Woooo!

It was blimmin’ fun! I so want that in Sydney too ‘cos we’ll have awesome weather (and more space) to boot… which’ll make it even better..

Very pretty! This year’s decorations are definitely nicer than last year’s one! I should really brave the crowds and head down to town to take a look this weekend! πŸ™‚

My aunt had to point it out to me since it was on the ceiling, and I’m a bit vague and never notice stuff like that πŸ˜‰
