Christine and I used to work together heaps, back in my previous role in eBay. But we don’t anymore, boo! So we decided to head out for an afternoon of food and shopping @ Paddington 😀 It was gorgeous and sunny outside, but the weather really dropped once the sun went down – it was freeeezing. I’m really over winter, I’ve decided. BRING ON SUMMER!!

The good part was that it was a very productive shopping trip. The bad part was that there were just too many shops and we didn’t have enough time, so we only shopped half the stores and did not even step into the markets! Lots of sales on though, so we went a bit mad. Which is naughty since I’m supposed to be (trying to) save money – it’s obviously not working! But I did buy less, so that’s one consolation.. 😉

Micky’s Cafe

Afternoon tea was at Micky’s Cafe, which I always seem to find myself at every time I’m at Paddington. It’s a fun, cosy little cafe.. and there are these cool curved booths near the glass windows that I like sitting at. We got a dessert each and the sugar was enough to send us into a sugar coma!! Luckily I had a freshly-squeezed fruit juice, but when I think about it, that’s sugar too right?? At least it was all delicious. The Chocolate Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream that I had was diiiiiiiivine. THE BEST DESSERT they have to offer, IMHO. It’s basically a steamed, moist chocolate cake swimming in liquid chocolate. It’s absolutely divine and I had to really control myself or I could’ve scoffed it all in 5 seconds 😉

Our other dessert, the Caramel Fudge Sundae was lots of vanilla ice cream drenched in caramel. But apparently not ‘proper’ caramel or something like that 😛 Like the syrup kind instead? They also included marshmallows which had us a bit confused at first ‘cos it gives a strange texture when you’re expecting regular ice cream.. that is, until we figured out they were, duh, marshmallows!
