15 of us met up for dinner on Thursday night at the Bavarian Bier Cafe (not to be confused with the Belgian Beer Cafe, which I’m a frequent visitor of).
I’ve never been to the Bavarian, despite it being about 2 blocks from the office. Very cool, moody wood interior with a myriad of glasses hanging from the ceiling. There were some suits milling around at the bar and every table was filled with diners. We got a long table for the 15 or so of us and proceeded to order up a storm. The waiter was incredibly attentive and sooo sweet – he recommended we get the large platters to share and when I expressed that it may not be enough, he promptly said that I could then order more and he’d put us first in line at the kitchen so any additional food would be served within 10 mins. Awesome! We went a bit mad ordering though.. I didn’t even get photos of all the food because there was just too much and the table was too long to reach over 😛
Thursday nights also feature German Henkell Trocken Piccolo bottles for $2 a pop. Regular price? $9.50. WHAT A BARGAIN!! So, again, we went a little mad and kept buying them until our table was littered with the glass bottles and we found it really tough to finish it all.. especially when all the boys decided they wanted ‘proper’ beer instead of champagne and so the girls were left to drink the Piccolos ourselves. Eeeeek! But the company was good and the food was good, we had a fun night 🙂
Very sleek interior
