My aunt shouted dinner near her place, and Jerry’s BBQ & Grill was the choice. I’d never been there before, so was pretty keen – I’m a big fan of good ‘ol American food! Surprisingly though, the prices are pretty $$ considering it’s pretty far from the City, and there was “no ambience”, as my aunt pointed out. It looks like a fairly cheap cafe. But the food – OOOOOOOOOHH!! I haven’t had good ‘ol ribs and such in ages, and this was just SO SATISFYING.

We started with the Escargot Baked in Garlic Butter and Cheesy Crust. I normally don’t order escargot (it’s $$) but my aunt just went ahead and ordered some for the table, which was strange as she later said she doesn’t eat it! Heh! But they were terrific, really tender with a robust garlicky flavour. Also had the Deep Fried Mushrooms which surprised me because the mushrooms were big and fat and served whole. They were deep-fried in batter, but when you popped it into your mouth, the mushrooms were really juicy and moist inside. Oooooooh ahhhh!

Next up were the pastas. Spaghetti Alo-Alo with Seafood was first – it looked heavenly, and tasted that too πŸ˜‰ The pasta was smooth in olive oil and had a zing of pepper. Loved the seafood it came with, especially since they were so generous with it! Also had the Spaghetti Marinara – I was pretty full by the time I attacked this, so I didn’t find this as interesting. Really good pasta with fresh seafood, but nothing incredibly spectacular IMHO.

Finally were the BEST dishes of the night, the BBQ Beef Short Ribs and BBQ Baby Back Pork Ribs!!!!! These are what they’re famous for, and it’s a no-brainer why. The meat was falling off the bones, and was meltingly soft. The sauce was tasty but not too overpowering, and you could still taste the delicious flavour of the meat. Plus you can choose 2 side dishes, which is cool.

It was a super dining experience.. but we ate FAR too much. I couldn’t really breathe properly afterwards because my stomach was so expanded my lungs had nowhere to expand to whenever I tried to breathe! So had to take small shallow breaths for awhile until I felt better. But it was worth it, the food is SUPERB :)~
