Christmas, FOOD, Living in... Singapore, Uncategorized CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER 2006 28 December 2006

A bit backdated, but Christmas eve dinner was at my aunt’s (Dad’s sister) place – it’s a tradition every year. They live in a big, gorgeous house.. decorated country-style. And they own just about everything under the sun πŸ˜› It’s always great eating there, because all the food is home-cooked and comes in mega portions, You’ll never ever ever leave hungry!

Prawn, scallop, crab and dried/fresh fruit appetizer

Chinese-style soup (a bit random!)

Beef Wellington – OMG this was so amazing, I had fourths. Haha!!

Mega ham. Went so well with the homemade apple sauce

The mains: Beef Wellington, Cod Fish, Ham, Salad, Pasta, Pumpkin

We each ate a bowl chock-full of Birds Nest.

Chopped fruit

Mud cake

Cupcakes!

My ‘lil cousins playing as Mary and Joseph – complete with dinosaur
(but wrong era, dudes!) Haha!

Looks nice

Ohhh.. I am already hungry – this food looks like a masterpiece.
Seems that you spent really good time with you family on Christmas.
Here in Russia we have Christmas in 7th January. So still preparing πŸ˜‰

Re: Looks nice

I hope you have a lovely Christmas too! I think you have the Baboushka that is the Russian version of Santa?
I added you btw πŸ™‚

Re: Looks nice

Oh- thank you Beverly. I have already prepared all presents for my close friends and relatives.
Babushka- this is Grandmother in English. Santa-Clause – this is Ded Moroz in Russian (Normally according to our traditions besides Ded Moroz we have his granddaugther -Snegurochka – so they all together visit children in New Year and give presents))) .
I hope also to receive lots of useful presents from them.

Whoa! That’s alot of food, I wonder how much time your aunt spent in the kitchen. The cupcakes and the mudcake look superb. Also, the ham looks like it came out of a magazine.
