A colleague and I went to Chinatown yesterday afternoon.. and went mad buying carbs, carbs, and more carbs! Hit Bread Top, which has fantastic Asian buns/cakes/pastries. I’m addicted to the stuff, I prefer them over the Western cake shops any day. Ended up with a pile of buns and bread that I’ve been chowing down on ever since 😛

We were at the Bread Top in World Square.. and I remembered that Chocolate Suze made a post about a certain Puffy cookie puffs. I nearly jumped around in glee and sheer joy. Actually, I did 😉 Dragged my colleague over, insisting WE HAVE TO BUY A PUFF!!!!! Happily got my puff and gulped it all down. It was yum. Compared to Beard Papa I’ll say that the chilled vanilla cream is pretty much identical – cool, subtly sweet and just divine. Crust-wise, Puffy has this crumbly crust. They say “Cookie crust”, but I think it’s a bit misleading since it makes you assume a HARD cookie crust. Not so at all, it crumbles at the slightest touch and melts in your mouth, just like the Beard Papa pastry does. It’s kind of like the difference between Battered Fish, and Breaded Fish. Similar but not at all. Anyway, Puffy was yum. I like it just as much as Beard Papa, no preference!
