oh my. my stomach just complained because of these photos alone… holy fooding! you’re so lucky bev! i love seafood too. πŸ˜€

Oh i ate there it was pretty good but all i had were oysters cause that’s all i felt like- what a waste. I hate going to buffets i never eat my worth.

I love buffets at hotels….The Sheraton on the Park is probably the best one in Sydney.

Have you tried the buffet at the Shangri-La (old ANA) at The Rocks….i reckon they’ve got the best dessert bar amoungst all the hotels with a chocolate fountain, gelato, etc! Their seafood aint too bad with prawns and oysters too. You and Chris should give it a try sometime.

Please tell me you didn’t eat ALL of that. If you did, I will be SO jealous that you can eat all of that and still stay so slim.

Until then, I’ll pretend you had one or two bites of everything and that was it.

πŸ™‚

Wellll I ate what was on my plates, but I didn’t eat the entire buffet table worth of food! πŸ˜›
It was yum though, totally worth it πŸ™‚

I didn’t have any shrimp crackers!! :X I didn’t have any carbs or whatever I thought was filling, so I could eat more of the other food, haha!

Bev, i totally regret reading your post early in the morning.. You make me craving for seafood too now. Arghh…

Just kidding. But looking at my sandwich and looking at your post, it looks pretty much miserable. Hehe…

Hehe gotta get you some seafood for dinner then!
I have to agree though, eating a sandwich is never fun ‘cos it always seems someone else is having something better! πŸ˜›

I haven’t been in aaaaages. The last time I went, it was still being refurbished. Oooh, and it should be
good food month soon. I went to about 4 different sugar hits last year. Dessert + matching dessert wine at most of the major hotels in the city. It’s a fantastic way to end a working day πŸ™‚

Oooo good food month is my bday month, it’s a sign, haha!

Which hotel had the nicest dessert+wine? I’d love to check it out πŸ™‚

What’s on offer varies from year to year. Last year, Intercontinental had a plate with 4 mini desserts that looked amazing, but the taste didn’t live up to its looks. My favourite was the Wentworth – they had the most lush dessert, and Sheraton had the best dessert wine. I’m just waiting for them to post up what’s on offer – still got a while to wait though. Isn’t it in September or October?

At first I was reading and thinking “Yay, we get the same here in the USA” but then I saw the sashimi photo and no American seafood buffet here has that. Also while we get the desserts, I haven’t been to one, regardless of price, with that many desserts which I would have wanted to eat. They have as many, but less interesting ones. Looks awesome, glad you could enjoy it for us. πŸ™‚

The seafood itself isn’t very fattening at all, unless you use a lot of butter with it. The problem is the desserts, and the bread side dishes. If you just eat plate after plate of the oysters, crab, etc. alone or with just lemon on it then it’s a healthier choice than most of the pasta dishes you eat. So you can feel free to go back again. πŸ˜‰

Yeah Australian buffets tend to involve many different cuisines.. I do like that πŸ™‚

Yeah I figure apart from the desserts, everything was not extremely unhealthy.. so it was OK to eat heaps!:)

My taste buds are very jealous!

It’s going to be great when my wife and I move back to the city. We’ll finally have some good places to go eat!

We are moving at the end of August.

After living in a town of about 16,000 (which technically is called a “city”) for almost two years, it will be GREAT to be back in a big city!

did you delete your post on picturing_food??
anyway, everything looks so good! *grumble grumble*

i’m adding you! hope that’s okay πŸ˜‰

Heheh I’ve done that before on my own LJ and gone “Hey!!! Who deleted my entries?!”

I added you too! Jap’s my faaave food
