Cool. My brother works and lives in San Jose. He’s with a computer chip company so who knows, if you end up going to a big conference you might run into him!

Oooh! I live about 40 minutes away from San Jose and I go to school there. It’s summer now, so it’ll be warm. I’m not sure how warm since the weather can be fickle sometimes. :/

As for shopping, Santana Row has a lot of great shops! I’m not really sure what you are interested in, but the shops tend to be more high-end (Gucci, Ferragamo, Burberry, etc). Right across the street is Valley Fair. It’s a large mall with several department stores, smaller stores, food court, etc. It also has a Louis Vuitton store (I’ve seen your collection hehe). There’s a lot of other great shopping malls/areas outside of San Jose. I’m not sure if you’ll be able to travel out of San Jose, but if you’d like some recommendations I’ll gladly share. πŸ™‚ Someone already mentioned the Stanford Shopping Center. That’s a good one!

OH BEV… you’ll be in our neck of the woods. Santana Row is a nice experience. Lots of upscale shops right in San Jose, across from the Winchester Mystery House. Stanford shopping center is in Palo Alto, another great shopping center, near Stanford University. And of course, you could always attempt to venture into San Francisco at night… only about an hour’s drive north.

Enjoy yourself… there’s so much to do around here and take lot’s of pictures.

I think Santana Row and Stanford and Valley Fair are winners, judging by all your recs here! πŸ˜€ Are they all right in SJ or in SF? I’ll be at eBay headquarters and can’t drive (and dont’ dare to, haha) so I’m kinda limited in travel unfortunately.. gotta take cabs everywhere

Santana Row looks to be a five minute drive from eBay headquarters, so you’ll definately enjoy that one. I’m wondering if eBay has a shuttle service that might be able to drop you there for free. Stanford Shopping center is in Palo Alto on El Camino Real, which is a main street running through most of California. I believe San Jose has it’s own transit system that might get you to Palo Alto. Either that or the bus or BART or Caltrain system would work. I just know you’ll enjoy yourself.

Definately pack for both warm and chilly weather. And carry a light jacket around just in case.

Oo I just realised the hotel I’m staying at is IN Santana Row.. lol. It’s a small world. The shopping and sights look amazing! πŸ™‚

Oh yay! Someone that knows the area πŸ˜› Hopefully in 2 weeks i’tll still be warm.. I’ll bring some strappy tops and tshirts, and maybe a cardigan/jacket just in case.

Wherabouts is Santana Row, is it in the middle of SJ I am so going there and Valley Fair too.. haha I’m alle xcited now!

I was just in San Jose today. lol I stopped by Santana Row as a matter of fact. It was rather warm with a very slight breeze. I’m pretty sure the warm weather will last. It’s usually a lot warmer there compared to where I live.

San Jose has a VTA Light Rail system that you might consider using. Going from San Jose to San Francisco (where Union Square is located) might be a little far if you plan on taking a cab. Since you’ll only have one day, Santana Row and Valley Fair should be enough… I hope. lol πŸ™‚

Yayy the weather sounds perfect! It’s weird here at the moment as it’s winter but sunny. Lookng forward to warm weather…

I’m flying in at SF airport so I’ll have to take a cab to SJ no matter what.. but ah well, i’ll be spending the week in SJ only, don’t want to travel too much πŸ˜›

Ooh, I thought maybe you were using the SJ airport. But, yeah, I just read that your hotel is in Santana Row. lol Makes it perfect then. πŸ™‚ I’ll be looking forward to your entries!

Things must be terribly expensive over there if things out West in the US are cheap lol In comparison, CA is expensive to me (as is Florida and other high traffic states). Have a fun time πŸ™‚

well I suppose if I factor in tips it’s different πŸ˜› In Australia or Singapore, ti ps aren’t really mandatory.. in fact most people don’t tip@!

Lucky u!! try to see if u can hit the warehouses for coach or Nine West. My friend studies there and she gets stuff really cheap at the factory outlets…

I know there’s a Coach store on Santana Row when I’m staying.. but dunno if it’s an outlet :X well, fingers crossed ! πŸ™‚

Hhahah! Me too πŸ˜› Nah I’m looking forward to visiting headquarters a nd seeing my colleages too πŸ™‚

I cannot remember whether San Jose is in the desert. They would have seasons though. Yes, in two weeks they should still be unloading the summer clothes (probably at least 50%, maybe even 75% off). They have already started.

I love the drier weather in California.
