Anyways lucky you for getting to check out the food festival I was so jealous I didnt get to have a wander round but alas work!

yeah i know it’s weird how some vegetarian stuff is made to look like meat. my grandman’s a veggie…been one for quite some time. but veggie food is yummy too!
It’s bizzare!! Tofu and gluten stuff made to look like meat.. but who are they kidding, it doesn’t taste like the real stuff 😛 Anyway there’s some good vegeterian food out there, so I don’t see the need to pretend to be meat..
Bah, now I want Dragon Beard candy too. 🙁 Sniff. It’s a good bet if you go back next year they will have the candy again, but alas finding out the date of the event might not be simple.
Seriously, I was fooled by the vegetarian fair too and when you figured it out I certainly still hadn’t from reading the story. I don’t think I would have picked up on it as quickly as you did, lol. Someone else probably would have had to tell me outright. 😉
I missed the home show here this year which is a shame as I am a new homeowner. But I had no idea it featured some of the things you mentioned. I thought it was all companies selling windows, doors, siding, roofing, additions, fireplaces, etc. for homeowners. I will definitely have to go next year!

The homeshow’s definitely fun! it has all sorts of furniture and appliances for sure, but also lots of cooking, food, and ‘fun’ stuff 🙂
Is that Dragon Beard Candy like a peanut filling surrounded by sugary jelly type stuff?
I had something like that years ago and I *LOVED* it. I never knew what it was called.
Well it has ground peanuts, but the outside is candy that’s been pulled and pulled so it’s like fine thread – it’s not jelly-ish though! So yum :)~

All I remember is that they looked like white snowballs, covered in desiccated coconut. And it was some sort of white gelatinous thing with a really sweet, nutty filling.

I’m normally not into sweets, but Dragon beard is one of the few I just ADORE!
