Cornea Ulcer
I had cornea ulcer back in university days too… but was due to my contact lenses being contaminated. The scars will remain permanent and u could see them as black patterns floating around ur vision when the light conditions get rather bright. So now I only use Peroxide cleaners for my contact lenses, and i only wear them for sports.

i’m so sorry bev. i had a similar experience with my right eye almost exactly one year ago, but that was definitely a contact lens infection. i ended up with a corneal scar (from a corneal ulcer) overlapping my pupil so my vision now is still slightly blurry. a most horrifying experience i wouldn’t wish on anyone.
