i used to cut off the frizzy ends with scissors too! hehe

anyway maybe if u want to touch up the regrowth u can get a ceramic iron and do this but it’s REALLY time consuming..

my hair looks horrid how that it’s growing out..i used to have relatively straight hair with a wavy base…so it’s straight but it doesn’t curl in or anything..not sure how to describe..have some old pics on MUA..but when i iron it looks freshly rebonded! yay!

i think half my hair length is regrowth and i’m still waiting for the whole thing to grow out..
weirdest thing is that the regrowth is wavy! there are like slight ripples or waves or watever you call them..it’s wavier than my pre rebonding hair! i don’t get it *siGh*

i do with i was born with straight hair but i’m probably not going to rebond anymore..it’s like the attack of the rebonded hair clones over here..maybe 5-6 out of every 10 girls have rebonded hair hehehe

i’m going to study in US in the fall though so i’m still debating whether or not to rebond my hair before i go coz i’m sure i won’t have time to iron my hair

i wonder how my hair will look if all the rebonded ends were gone and it’s slightly wavy..hmmms

anyway try not to rebond too often becoz with each process the damage worsens so the ends will get frizzier if you don’t cut them off =D

US$200??????? wat!!! that’s sooo expensive!!! the most i paid was S$270 and my hair is longer than yours..wow they charge an arm and leg in australia

sorry i didn’t reply earlier..didn’t check this string

anyway a ceramic iron is similar to the flat iron they use for rebonding but the plates are made of ceramic not metal so they heat up more evenly and reduce damage caused by hotspots from metal plates which don’t heat up evenly

it’s similar to the CHI and HAI irons which are much talked about on MUA..maybe u’ve heard of these? the temperatures of these irons tend to be higher than the normal flat irons sold at walmart, target etc

oh yeah..i use kerastase oleo relax too and i love it! works great for rescuing hair from rebonding damage

I know! It’s heaps cheaper in Singapore.. mine was S$250 and my hair’s just below shoulders, I did mine at Kimage.

I’ve heard of the CHi and HAI and i’m really interested in them.. do you think it’s more damaging to use this every day, or more damaging to do rebonding? I think after my rebonded hair grows out I’ll try the CHI and see how it goes.. but yeah, Kerastase’s Oleo Relax line is perfect!!

Kimage…they left me with a VERY bad impression..the recommended hairdresser gave me a way too layered cut which left me with a puffy top and flat ends..eeeks!
lucky my aunt came in time with the ceramic iron from the US so i could iron it flat

anyway i’m using HairArt becoz it’s dual voltage..no idea how effective or damaging the HAI or CHI are

for now i can’t really tell whether the ceramic iron is damaging my hair..i iron it a couple times a week and it’s very soft and silky after ironing..i do use a hair mask everyday + 2 leave in conditioners when i blow dry + iron…sometimes if i don’t blow my hair the ends seem a bit dry though
it’s VERY tiring and time consuming to flat iron my hair so often..makes me feel like rebonding again

sad to say every single rebonding session i had left me with fried frizzy ends which had to be cut off..Keratase Oleo Relax helped to some extent

i think if your hair is not damaged after rebonding then stick with it..ceramic ironing is not worth the time and effort..might want to consider this for touching up though but not as a long term solution..nothing beats the convenience of not having to blow dry hair hehe

Yikes.. sorry you had a bad experience with them! They do rebonding quite well though, and it was about SG$250 or so, so I was pretty happy. You’re right about using the irons though – it takes time and effort, whereas if you just rebond, it’s wash and go! But if I keep rebonding, I think my hair will get really damaged :T I get frizzy ends too but I use Kerastase and it helps quite a bit.. and the REALLY frizzy bits I cut off with scissors πŸ˜‰

I reckon I won’t rebond for a year.. and when I get regrowth in a few months, just touch up the roots.. and do that until it grows out quite a bit, then rebond again πŸ˜› Man, we should just have naturally straight hair!

rebonding

i will be visiting Brisbane and Cairns from overseas and was hoping that you knew of a salon in either place that is reliable for the rebonding process. you can email me at [email protected].

thx. so much!

i wanna have that done too! i have straight hair but there are some annoying wiry, wavy strands that should be tamed. how much does the procedure cost and how long does it last?

Mine sounds like ours too.. relatively straight but a bit wavy/frizzy at bits. Hate ’em! It’s about US$200 and lasts me about a year πŸ™‚

wow, that looks REALLY good! i really like it :). i wanna get that done, but i don’t have the money, or know a place near me that does it – how much did it cost you?

It was about US$200 but it basically lasts until your hair regrows, so about a year before our hair starts looking noticably wavy again. I figure that’s less than $4 a week so it’s not too bad πŸ˜›
It’s not very popular in western countries but if you go to Chinatown bet they’ll have it!

haha, i actually spent around 6 hours while i was doing rebonding early this year.. my bum was almost flat!! :p

Hrm, u need to take more care of it as the hair has really become dryer and weaker after the perm.. need more treatments, esp the air is so dry in Aust.

SIX hours?! Is your hair long or something? My head’s feeling a bit better though my hair looks really gloss and limp right now cos I can’t wash it out ’till at least tomorrow.

And yeah, I use Kerastase’s Oleo Relax every 2nd day on my hair – it’s really awesome stuff and makes my ends really soft πŸ™‚

My hair should be considered ‘short’ for a tall person, but for me, it reached my elbow when i went for rebonding last time.

I think the treatment one week after the perm is very important b/c that is when your hair can be straighten again and also smoother.

I use BonaCure for split ends and tangle free.

Oh wow! Elbowlength? How much did that cost? I asked for my hair to be cut short cos I figured it’d be cheaper and faster to rebond, hehe.

Anyway just washed my hair today and used Kerastase’s Oleo Relax and it’s soooo soft and silky and *straight* – I keep touching my hair, hehe! What’s BonaCure, is there a website for it?

hrm, it is actually a product of schwarzkopf. All bonacure products are in yellow colour packaging, you can look for it in the salon.

I did it in my hometown (jb) for RM180 for that length. It should be RM220 for long hair, but since i am a regular customer i was charged cheaper πŸ™‚

Just pay more attention and care to ur hair, as i find the hair drops a lot more after rebonding πŸ™

lucky girl..your hair doesn’t damaged at all! mine already has frizzy fried ends from the 1st rebonding
now i use a ceramic flat iron to touch up the roots..time consuming but at least my hair is straight hee

My ends are dry but not too bad.. I use Kerastase’s Oleo-Relax treatment and it’s heaven sent!! Really saves my hair..

So what’s a ceramic flat iron? Does it work well? Might have to invest in one in a few months when I get regrowth.. cos if I do touchups it’ll probably be really expensive.
