Hellllooooo from Paris!!!
It’s only Day 4, but we’ve done so much and also eaten ourselves into a freakin’ stupor. The weather here is fantastic, and rather surreal to see clear blue skies and fluffy white clouds. It’s cool in the mornings/night but very warm during the day. Simply divine 🙂
Anyway, very exhausted, so just posting a few quick photos of our apartment. We’re incredibly pleased with our duplex-unit. It costs a little more than a smaller/dodgier apartment, but it’s oh SO worth it! It’s actually really spacious for Paris standards, and beautifully spick and span and neat. With ‘French country style’ interiors, the 18th-century building is in the Le Marais area and close to the train and shops. We love it 🙂

renting a funrnished appt is defo the way to go in Paris, well done. Tha way you can buy fresh produces (mainly cheese and baguette and cured meet) and eat at home for afraction of the hotel price.
Richard Lenoir is where I used to live and go out (after I moved out of my parents), awesome area.

Hey have you heard the news about Russia? Not sure it’s the best time to go, don’t want an irradiate couple and baby!!!
Btw: hope you’re not too frustrated it’s not recommended to eat foie gras for you but seared should be ok…

Yeah, all our French friends told us about the apt – and it’s way cuter! WE’re not cooking though… eating out cos want to experience French food 😛 I’ve had 2 bites of pate foie gras and 2 bites of cooked foie gras – so far not too bad!
Chris says unlikely we’ll go to Russia now, dohhhh. Have to figure out what to do and how much our travel insurance covers us for the flights etc.

Paris is one of my favourite places in the world. Everywhere you go, there’s just so much old-world culture and beauty.
If you’re into museums and sculptures, the Rodin museum is very nice. I don’t usually go for museums for just one artist, but I really enjoyed this.
Congrats to you and Chris on your first anniversary! How quickly a year goes by!
We only ended up in the Louvre.. we’re not Museum people, prefer to eat our way through Paris, teehee!
Don’t worry about responding to LJ comments and enjoy your vacay. That staircase is really cool. It would have freaked me out when I was a little kid because I was afraid of heights and I was afraid I would fall in between the steps. Haha.

hi beverly, i am a long-time follower of your blog – since the alt.fashion days! i am finally delurking to say hi, congratulate you, and give you a few rec’s for barcelona in case you need it!
– if you like dali, the trip to his museum outside of barcelona is worth it and one of the best museums i’ve been to.
– my favorite meals were at Paco Meralgo (highly recommend the pan con tomate, steak in pepper sauce, croquetas, razor clams, …), Bar Pinotxo in the Boqueria market (righthand side, near the entrance), and cal pep (make sure you get there early or you will have to wait. the tortilla is fab, so is their garbanzo/seafood dish).
– i’m a big fan of hot chocolate with churros. my favorite place was la granja for the chocolate. a few doors down there is a place that sells fresh churros and you can bring it into la granja. it is nice and more bitter than the other place below. if you prefer sweeter chocolate, La Pallaresa is nearby. their chocolate is more pudding like and is sweeter. they also have churros.
