Maybe you should make up a Chinese name for yourself π Surely ‘Chua’ is a romanisation of some sort of Chinese last name? (According to wikipedia, this is Chua ‘θ‘’)
I’m finally on lj and reading your entries, they are so much fun! I hope lj stays open the whole time you are in Shanghai π
Also, can’t believe they gave away plasma tv’s as prizes! Big ones?
I do have a Chinese name! And θ‘ is my correct last name π π
Yeah the plasma tvs and computer screens were in really large boxes. I was jealous π
Oh do you have a chinese name? What is it? π (If you don’t mind divulging that is!)
Maybe next party you’ll be lucky and win a plasma.
I dn’t have chinese software on this computer but it’s Cai Wen Li!

Oh the first character at the start of the line your name is on is the same first character as my name! Incidentally, the last character of the name above yours is the last character of my name too..
Oh hehe coincidental!

yeaps its an ‘invite card’. it reads ‘yao(1) qing(3) ka(3)’
Whhahahah i was right!!
LOL you are hilarious la hunz π
Eating the shells, eh? Keep us posted whether that’s standard practice for shrimp there or whether it was unique to that type of shrimp and sauce and preparation of that particular dish.
Maybe Chris will want the camera? Or your parents? Congrats on winning it!
there’s a type of shrimp where you eat the whole thing, provided it’s fried correctly. Actually really good, and it makes for a good source of calcium!
oats prawns!! you eat them all — shell and flesh and the head and all!

Um… I got a candleholder at my office party. Trade ya!!
Do you not have a Chinese name? Or do they just not know what it is?
At our aussie one we get… nothing! So at least you get something π
I do, but they just don’t use it, for some weird reason.. i think it’s cos it’s never used so no one thinks of it!
Woo on the camera! Nice!! How many megapixels is it?
Errr I’m not sure, i didn’t even look haha!
Megapixels is a often mistaken by ppl to judge quality.. it’s actually the lens that makes all the difference – megapixel quality isn’t noticable after about 5MP!
Really!! I didn’t know that!! So I guess my 5mp phone camera is already pretty good! I was thinking of upgrading to a better one so I can take nicer pics but looks like not necessary! Heh.
no need la, unless you wanna develop phots of A3 size and bigger. =)
actually for camera (not handphone camera), 3.2MP is very good liao.
Yeah the MP doesn’t matter much for the phones either.. it’s the size and quality of the lens as well! Your phone cam is really good anyways don’t really need a normal one π
I stayed at the Ramada when I was in Shanghai! π
congrats on the camera!
It’s not bad! Quite close to my office π
That’s amazing! Nothing wrong with having the only English name BTW π It’s nice that you stand out!
nooo cos everyone noticed and pointed it out, boo!
Wow, what a fantastic prize!
So sad that I already have a digicam tho.. was wishing it was a Smartphone instead!
