My beautiful cousin madmoneymonkey‘s
Entrance to their house, with the traditional red wedding banner
Looking serious checking out our digicam specs
We took a photo of her so she could blog whilst waiting for her future hubby π
The bride and her parents!
The brides’ “sisters” waiting at the gate
The groom and his boys arrive..
..they come bearing gifts of a roast duck and a roast pig and cakes. It’s tradition!
We don’t let them in so easily, they have to do a range of silly stuff like
making up anagrams, eating strange foods, etc!
Example: eating wasabi crackers and big spoonfuls of honey
Example: drinking really sour drinks/juices
Example: passing food mouth-to-mouth.. with the groom at the end who
had to eat the mushy bit of food after he got it. Ewwww!!!
Then we locked them out of the bride’s bedroom door, but they charged in anyways!
And the groom claims his gorgeous bride π
The bride with her sister. Awwwwww
Mum and Dad being served tea
(it’s a traditional Chinese tea ceremony that we do in SG)
Ugly photo of me, being served tea by the bride and groom
Fussing over the bride and touching-up her makeup
A shot of the couple with the girls!
Aaaaand off they go
JUST about to walk down the aisle at the church,
with me looking horrifically huge/large/pregnant
Walking down the aisle..
Solemisation
Me and my other cousin!
The 2 bridesmaids π People kept getting us mixed up because apparently
we have the same hairstyle/length, same size, same height, etc!
Proper official pics TBA.. we’ve only got the amateur ones taken by everyone π
Congrats to her! Gorgeous pictures and you look fab!
Looking at the pics and videos make me smile.. it was such a nice weekend π

you do NOT look fat or pregnant in that white dress. you look awesome! π
I kinda stuck my tummy out and my dad took the pic at a bad angle, d’oh! But at least the other ones aren’t too bad π
What a fun day! You all look so happy and those traditions look a lot of fun. π
It was my first time experiencing all those traditions too, I really enjoyed it π

Cool! We have the same (similar) rituals to picking up the bride by the groom and his men! We did that for both my sisters’ weddings. The games were so fun.
Did you go to 2 weddings Bev? I think you had pictures of another wedding you attended too or is this the same but that were evening banquet photos?
The games were definitely the funniest part π It was my first time seeing it too!
Oh the tea/wedding was on Sat and the dinner was on Sun.. so it was the same event but split over 2 days
nahhh you dont look preggers! and no you 2 dont look alike! π
love the white dress though. tailored?
Haha silly me stuck out my belly in my pregnant photo π
the white dress was from a bridal shop, but it was rented so we had to return it! π
oooh i see, buy it if you like it!

Great pics and you don’t look ugly in any of them.
Aww thanks:) It was a lovely day, everyone was just glowin
hahaha i guess it’s not easy to be one of the groomsmen… having to eat strange food and do silly things like that! =P
don’t you have to be married to be served tea? (for the tea ceremony)
Yeah sometimes the ‘sisters’ go easy on ’em and sometimes they’re really evil, haha!
I think it’s 50/50 regarding the tea ceremony going before or after the wedding, so it depends on which the couples prefer.
Wow, what interesting traditions! Could you elaborate on the meaning of the duck, pig, tea, groom claiming the bride, etc? It’s quite a difference from Jewish weddings where they break a glass, etc. I have never heard about any of this before and no doubt neither have many of your other readers. Thanks in advance!
Okay erm.. I am really bad and actually don’t know most of these traditions :X I was actually learning during the day! I think the duck/pig/cake are just to signify gifts or something?
And the groom and his ‘boys’ come over and the ‘sisters’ make them do insane stuff before they’ll let the boys in.. then they have to ‘fight’ their way into the bride’s bedroom to claim her. Or something like that, haha!
What a beaaautiful day π Your cousin made a gorgeous gorgeous bride!
And you SO DO NOT look pregnant.
she has a really brilliant smile, and it captures beautifully in photos – so lucky!!
Hahaha, that was great! I love the traditions of the boys sporting gifts and having to eat odd foods! That’s so funny and it seems like you all had a good time. =D
the poor boys though π But the rest of us had FUN, haha!!
