OT: I’ve been trying ALL day to get on to the MUA site at work and home and I can’t get in!!!! I was just wondering if you were having the same problem? I guess so because it wasn’t working from home or work but I just got my SP order tonight and SOOOOOOO much wanted to post about it on the B&B board! It’s all so YUMMMM!! Anyway, do you think it would have anything to do with that super worm virus? I hope MUA is alright!!!

Yeah! Just about to send off the temp PR form that grants me bacially PR rights (ie. unlimited working hrs) until the real PR gets granted.
I apply to the ACS just before I apply for temp PR and just sent a copy of the ACS application along with the temp PR application and that’s all they need. It’s all a really tight schedule cos my visa expires end of the month, but the Immigration people said I can fit it all in on time *whew*

oh i’m on my bridging visa now. is that the same as a temp PR? coz i am allowed to work full time but they don’t actually stamp anything in my passport and i’m not supposed to leave australia unless i apply for another visa. i’ve been a little lazy so far looking for a job though. :Þ

they don’t actually send you the bridging visa. but once they’ve confirmed with you that they received your application, you’re fine. they’ll send you a letter. 🙂

the letter i received says that they have a huge volume of application to be processed at the moment, so confirmation of a bridging visa will be delayed. but according to my lawyer once they receive your application you should be fine. 🙂

Hehehe… token. Actually, Australia’s Equal-Opportunity Employment regulations state that a workplace has to be at least 25% female! I think, anyway. Or maybe it’s the number of ppl who are interviewed. But I doubt that’s the case. My impression is Australia is the most tolerant, open-minded, equal-opportunity country in the world. 🙂 I hope so, anyway!!!
But then, the dept I work in is just 25% female, too… Hmm… ;P Good luck getting the job!

I apply to the ACS just before I apply for temp PR and just sent a copy of the ACS application along with the temp PR application and that’s all they need. It’s all a really tight schedule cos my visa expires end of the month, but the Immigration people said I can fit it all in on time *whew*

oh i’m on my bridging visa now. is that the same as a temp PR? coz i am allowed to work full time but they don’t actually stamp anything in my passport and i’m not supposed to leave australia unless i apply for another visa. i’ve been a little lazy so far looking for a job though. :Þ
Uhm.. yeah I think it’s the same – it lasts for 6 months right? And yeah, you can work full-time, which is cool cos if you get a full-time job, you can start working! How long did it take for you to get the bridging one after applying for it? I’m hoping a week or two *crosses fingers*
they don’t actually send you the bridging visa. but once they’ve confirmed with you that they received your application, you’re fine. they’ll send you a letter. 🙂
Oh!! So the bridging visa is just a letter or something? And then when you get proper PR they’ll send it to you? Weird.. Ah well, as long as I get it 😉
the letter i received says that they have a huge volume of application to be processed at the moment, so confirmation of a bridging visa will be delayed. but according to my lawyer once they receive your application you should be fine. 🙂
Oh cool, that’s a relief! Man I can’t wait to get my bridging/temp visa – Once I do I can relax fully..
Atm I’m waiting for my Uni to give me my letter of completion and official transcript.. which I”ll get next week. Then I’ll apply to ACS and for temp PR simultaneously!

Hehehe… token. Actually, Australia’s Equal-Opportunity Employment regulations state that a workplace has to be at least 25% female! I think, anyway. Or maybe it’s the number of ppl who are interviewed. But I doubt that’s the case. My impression is Australia is the most tolerant, open-minded, equal-opportunity country in the world. 🙂 I hope so, anyway!!!
But then, the dept I work in is just 25% female, too… Hmm… ;P Good luck getting the job!
Heh yeah, I did hear something about a % of workers HAVING to be female. In my course, only 20-25% are female so I guess I have a pretty good chance overall, thanks to my gender!!

microsoft is on the shit list of governments beacause of the latest worm, a job agreed to now does not promise a job 5 months from now… i suggest you check out reh hat… the us and german and soon all the other european powers will b switching over to it soon, their symbol on the stock exchange is rhat.. good luck bev… tony

Heh, no way am I going to pass over a Microsoft job! Even if I don’t like it I’ll just stick with it because it’ll look good on my resume.. and I’ve always wanted to know what it would be like to work in a massive IT corporation like that.
