RATING:
We wanted to check out the big Motherswork store at Great World City, and so randomly decided on a lunch place whilst we were there. Bangkok Jam is a chic little cafe with lots of space and very neat and tidy, and with really attentive and polite service to boot. Plus, we arrived just before the lunch crowd and so scored a very comfortable booth seat – hurray!
Me and my lil cuddle bear
Mrs and Miss matchy-match
The dishes are all the regular Thai style dishes, but served in a nice ambience. You pay for that though, which we realised when our bill came up to $35pp! I thought it was on the high end as I was expecting it to be around $20 or so.. it’s surprising how stuff adds up! Fortunately, I thought all the food was actually pretty good. The rich thick gravy in the Red curry with chicken was addictive, and I adored the BBQ chicken which was all plump and juicy, with a mildly sweet flavour and dipped into 2 different sauces. Mmmm…
Fresh coconut and avocado milkshake(!)
Thai fish cakes
Red curry with chicken
BBQ chicken
But of course the best were the desserts. A generous portion of Banana fritters and ice cream, and awesome, awesome Thai red ruby in coconut ice cream – I don’t often see this dessert and adore it! It was divine in coconut ice cream (instead of the usual coconut milk).. more places should have this π

Motherswork is an awesome shop. They have almost everything you could imagine! I was so overwhelmed and wanted to buy so many things that I ended up buying…. nothing π Yes, my weird idiosyncrasy arises – where I always walk away empty handed if I find there are too many things I like. I’ve been going a bit mad buying baby-stuff online recently anyway, so it’s just as well!
Lady walked past and asked, “Twins?” Errrr…
“Excuse me whilst I molest Auntie ickleoriental”
Cuddles for me?
And I finally got round to taking a video of Hunter sitting up by himself the other day. He’s no longer a little baby!
awww you got her smiling!
I super love that pic of her…. *proud of own photography* π

Recently, I was looking to buy something online (I totally forgot what it was now) and I see that it’s available at Motherwork and I have meant to check this place out. The last time I went to GWC, there was nothing much.
Now I need to check out the place, and Bangkok Jam.
By the way, I have been replying to your tweets and realised you’re not following me so you can’t see them. Add me? I’m madinked. Thanks!
i like the store at GWC, they have a pretty impressive range! I find baby stores just awesome now… haha π
The dessert looks amazing. How was the avocado milkshake? I would have never imagined avocado in a milkshake.
It was really nice! Avocado doesn’t have a strong taste and they put a syrup in as well, so it’s like a a vanilla thickshake
