The next morning, on 31 December (New Year’s Eve!) it was…………….. DAD’S 60TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Okay. Not sure if he’s that keen for his age to be broadcasted here on my blog, but too late now. Bwahahaha! I wasn’t going to mention it, but then I figured I couldn’t then really explain the birthday celebrations (and our grand finale dinner) without using that as our reason.

So anyways, it was a perfectly brilliant and sunny day for his birthday, and EVERYONE was in a celebratory mood since it was New Year’s Eve as well πŸ˜› I still always think of my parents as in their early-40s, for some strange reason, so it’s a bit surreal when I really stop and think about their actual age. Luckily, they haven’t changed/aged much since and both of them are healthy – thank God for that!

Anyway, we kicked off celebrations by heading (yet again) to the beach for a casual brunch at SeaChange Cafe & Grill. I love the food there and especially like how it’s a hop and a skip from the beach across the road. Plus, it brings back fond memories of when Chris was a Dee Why Beach lifesaver (sexy!) and we used to hang out there.

They do a fabulous AΓ§aΓ (berries that originate from the rainforests of South America)! They blend it so it’s like a very smooth sorbet, and top it off with muesli and fruit. It is FANTASTIC. Best eaten on a hot summer’s day and relaxing by the beach.

All their other dishes were also delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It’s a fantastic little place for a weekend brunch, and you can jump into the ocean afterwards or chill out on the beach. Only downside is their prices – they are expensive considering they’re a casual cafe. I suppose it’s all about location, location, location!

An awesome pic of my parents!
