Monday morning was cook-our-own-breakfast,
Breakfast sizzling away
A very fatty/delicious meal
Headed off to the nearby Leura area to shop around.. though there wasn’t much to do, just a small strip of shops really! Fun to at least poke around and see what the locals do on a regular Monday afternoon π The answer is: not much at all. Haha! We ended up having lunch at Stockmarket Cafe which is, quite possibly, the smallest cafe I have EVER seen. It has one long-ish bench that seats around 8-10 people, a small/thin table attached to the wall with around 4 barstools, and one window table that seats 2, on some cushions. You can imagine the window table is THE most popular one, and we scored it! Bwahaahhahaa!! It was very weird being in such a small cafe though, I wonder how they make money?!
Since they’re apparently famous for their coffees, I got the Hot Mocha but it wasn’t spectacular at all :X It was nice, but nothing special? Maybe I should’ve gone for a regular latte to taste the difference. Anyway, I had the Grain Fed Rump Steak Sandwich with oven roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions, rocket, aioli and fries which came in a really big portion. The steak was really tender and cooked perfectly medium-rare, though they should’ve taken the bit of rind/tendon running through it as it annoyed the crap outta me! The fries with aioli were perfect π Chris had the Chicken and Leek Gourmet Pie with homemade chutney, salad and fries which was incredibly creamy and so so so nice :)~ It’s a shame this place isn’t in Sydney, I’d love to go more often!

Then it was back into the car and driving back to Sydney.. the holiday was over WAY too soon! It should have been at least a week, I reckon π It was a brilliant getaway though, and we were permanently in blissed-out mode, hehe. THANKS Chris for organising it, it was super sweet!! *starry eyed*

The Stockmarket Cafe! I ate breakfast there a few weeks ago when I was in the Mountains for a weekend. The coffee is excellent and the food was pretty good too, but you’re right about it being teeny tiny.
Ooo small world! And yeah, it was so small it kinda shocked us, haha
the fries look absolutely crispy!
They were really good, esp dipped into the aioli. YUM!
Romantic getaway! *^^*
Mmm it so was teehee *starry eyed*

I think my fave was the Swiss Cottage, wish they were here in Sydney so we could go more often!

I love scramble eggs..but never know how to make them, only chance to eat them is when i get brunch at cafes ;P
I love cooking em cos it’s quite easy! Just 1 tbsp of cream for every egg and add salt, pepper, herbs π
