Great clothes! Sydney sounds like a wonderful place to shop. Here I always go out with the intention of buying some new pieces and come back empty-handed. But have fun with your capris! π
And I agree completely with your statement about kids.
Sydney has nice shopping, but nothing beats the USA or Japan imho π
Maggi Mee with egg sure sounds yummy! π
Ya! Egg stirred in, with a dash of sesame oil and a sprinkling of fried onions. Yummmmm
i love your black capris. i’ve got the exact same problem with you cause i’m skinny and the wide cut really don’t flatter at all.. i’m glad you found ur perfect pair.. in the meanwhile, i will have to keep a lookout for my own perfect pair…
Do check out RL if you’re like me too! Alannah hill also had a gorgeous pair that was so nice, but they didn’t have it in my size *cries*
I love RL cable cashmere sweaters. They’re not cheap though but so soft and warm. Juicy Couture did a pretty good version last year with their signature heart on the back and the scottie terrier on the front. I’ve got the round neck in cream and v neck in pink and absolutely love them. Great for winter. Definitely check them out on ebay.
I’m sure they’d last too.. better to get a more $ that feels divine and lasts, rather than a cheaper one that goes out of shape after you wear it twice :X
keep me on your list ok?
i’d like to read about another Singaporean living in Australia!
perhaps to wonder about a chance not taken, a choice not made, and a dream unattainable.
thanks Beverly
Oh I def will! π
Hi there, I have not been logging onto livejournal cos ive been so busy with the new job. Just to let u know im still enjoying ur entries lots and your food reviews :)I lurrve capris too..esp since its too hot sometimes to wear jeans in singapore!
Hiya, thanks for letting me know, but you needn’t have since I already know ya silly! π Hope you’re having fun with your new job π
I have a feeling she’d get on well with your mum.. swapping recipes and whatnot π

My dad has the same name as yours! Hee. And I really love instant noodles. Some people eat it when they have no choice but I actually crave for it!
I loooove instant noodles.. I always go to Asian supermarkets and mooch around the noodle aisle and buy heaps π
Is knickerbockers the aussie slang for capris?
I actually don’t know.. I just heard the word “knickerbockers” and they sounded so cute so maybe it’s just me that says it, haha!

gosh, i feel like i haven’t been here in so long so i scrolled down and updated myself. lol. congrats on your parents’ anniversary π yep, chai lattes are awesome. green tea lattes are pretty good too. i totally get how great it is to find a good pair of capris that actually FIT WELL. i have ones from banana i think. it’s from the petite section and still a bit loose. damnit. haha.
Green tea latte?! I’ve never had one.. now I want to try them π
I have a feeling she’d get on well with your mum.. swapping recipes and whatnot π
I just need to be a little bit taller to pull off capri pants. I’m too short! When I wear them, they look like full length pants that are just a little bit too short for me lol
I’m gonna pinch that survey thing π
I probably need to be taller too, but oh well, haha!
Wow, you wake up at 7.30 am? That’s very nice, since most of office people here have to be ready in the office around that time.
I’m inactive at my LJ at the moment, but pls don’t delete me off. I enjoy all your entries, Bev!
Ya I wake up 7:30, out of the house by 8:25 and at work by 8:40.. I’m like clockwork, lol.
Will keep you on!
BEV, I just saw your Pink B bag!!! It’s sooo gorgeous! I think I like it more than the baby blue one π
heyy you were born in 1981 too?? π
oh and you better keep me on your list girl π
I like pink and blue, all my clothes are those colors anyway.. hehe. Ya 1981 baby here π
Nice buy! Yeah I hate trying to find pants as most never fit properly. Last year I got a pair of light denim 3/4 jeans at Target with turn up cuffs.. I wouldn’t exact call them capris though.. but yeah they were cheap and the last pair in size 8. They have pink on the cuffs. It’s funny because when my mum saw me wearing them she said ‘Oh, are your jeans too long? Do you want me to take them up for you?’ hahah I said ‘Mum, it’s supposed to be like that!’
Hehehhehehe your mum sounds so cute! π
My dad has the same name as yours! Hee. And I really love instant noodles. Some people eat it when they have no choice but I actually crave for it!
I loooove instant noodles.. I always go to Asian supermarkets and mooch around the noodle aisle and buy heaps π
hi bev,
my first time commenting – please don’t delete me! i enjoy reading your entries and looking at your lovely photos. i just use my lj account to read friends’ sites, and do have a website at my username+.org π
Thanks for letting me know π I just didn’t feel comfortable sharing my friends entries with people that I’ve never spoken to!
Is knickerbockers the aussie slang for capris?
I actually don’t know.. I just heard the word “knickerbockers” and they sounded so cute so maybe it’s just me that says it, haha!
Like the capris.
But the cashmere top is really nice as well. π
I wish I got the cashmere top… but must..controllll….selffffff………. lol!

hey girl..nice capris there π Anyway, remember me! I think I shd have given you my other blog addy (given to those in my friends list in LJ). Anyway, started writing back there again
Awww come to LJ! It’s such a fun community here π What made you leave?

hi bev,

Thanks for letting me know π I just didn’t feel comfortable sharing my friends entries with people that I’ve never spoken to!
I LOVE those pants. And it looks like they have little cargo pockets on the sides, so I love them even more.
I’ve never heard the term “knickerbocker” before. It makes me laugh π
They should look great with heels. I have a grey pinstripe pair that I match with heels to wear to work a lot.
Ya little flat pockets, so they cleverly don’t widen the hips
They’re 3/4 pants, pedal-pushers, knickerbockers, capris.. and I’m sure many other more names!
I’ve also heard them called floods and clam diggers. Whatever term you use, they sure are cute!
don’t delete me again! hehe π
Promise I won’t!! I’ve spoken to you before π
I’ve had the same problem with capris for years, but every now and then I get stubborn and wear them anyway – and I usually end up regretting it mid day and start coming up with every possible excuse to be sitting down so no one will see :O Will def have to check out the pair that worked for you π
I’m also one of those who are probably a “blank, silent, anonymous person.” I’ve enjoyed reading your entires for these past 6-7 years and I’d miss them if they were gone, but you should do what you have to do to feel comfortable <3 I sometimes wonder if I made my entries private I'd be more willing to post in general anymore.
Haha join the stubborn club, I just like ’em so I’ll wear them.. regardless of how they look on me π
Nah wasn’t referring to you, we’ve ‘spoken’ before! It’s just people that i’ve literally never even said hi to before. I never used to like private entries, but now I love ’em.. who knows who could be reading public ones *paranoid*
Like the capris.
But the cashmere top is really nice as well. π
I wish I got the cashmere top… but must..controllll….selffffff………. lol!
Bev, pls don’t take me off your list! hehe =P
Derr I know you! I mean people that I’ve literally never even spoken to before π
RL
omg – i love those capris!
Will have to go check them out ASAP..
Did they have them in any other colours?
My friend still works there so i’m going to try & see if she can get it for me on staff discount π
Re: RL
I think they’d suit you too! Good for anyone with skinny knees π They have ’em in black or white
OMG i think you’re onto a winner (kudos to you for even trying on a whole lotta’ pairs, i just gave up telling myself “im short..with skinny legs, no one will make anything that fits”)
i know where i’ll be popping into!
Ooo yeah I’m exactly like you, Ralph Lauren’s the way to go then! The only thign that sucks is that it’s so cheap in the USA, but so $$ in AU π It was $129 here and less than $50 in the USA!
the capris in the above looks really tempting, but ive got a flat butt! i usually have prob finding jeans that would flatter my lower body or at least hide my flaws. tried on capris before..sand the result was disastrous! plus my calf area is kinda thick as compared to other girls i know. =/
Hee, I think capris are so hard to find unless you have the perfect tall/slim model figure, then all of them would fit! I found that even jeans are easier to find that capris.. uck
Don’t delete me too! I’ll be real sad. Had been busy recently due to exams preparations and assignments.
I knooooow you, we”ve spoken (okay, written) like 10 times before!
I’ve been writing about new drinks in my blog too π Great minds think alike. I’ve been trying to find capris forever too. The last time I wore capris was 7 years ago, from a cheap store. I liked them because they were tight and stopped at the knee. Now all the ones are baggy at the leg, which make me look shorter because they cut you at the fattest part of my leg and they make me look hippy. Every summer I search in vain for capris. Glad you find yours. I also like the pink cashmere sweater. I’ve been thinking about getting a cashmere sweater this year.
baggy capris are so unflattering IMHO! Like some potato with 2 sticks sticking out. Ick. These RL slim-fit ones are so divine, I’m happy π
Hey Bev, I probably fall into one of your categories that would get me deleted from your friends list – the only thing I use my LJ account for is to read your entries, so don’t delete me! lol
Heya, thanks for letting me know! π
Don’t delete me! I’ll be sad forever! And the questionnaire thing is cute, I think I’ll steal it for my lj! π But I might edit some ;ΓΎ
I like that pink cashmere jumper!! But it’s a good thing you didn’t buy it, I mean, it’s coming up to summer, you won’t have much use for it til next year! And by then you’d probably have found much better clothes to buy! π
I used to wear pedal-pushers when they first became really really in (back in 1998 or so). I was so obsessed with them! But then I got sick of them, and they make me looks heaps short π
BTW, how do you make those smiley/emoticon things on your lj? They’re so cute!!
I won’t, I know ya silly! π
I’ve never worn short pants before, but they are so cute π They’ll be good for summer. I got my smilies from mazeguy.net, I’m obsessed with them now, haha
Hey, I looove those lil’ icons! If you don’t mind, I’d love to d/l and use ’em whenever too! π
Of course! I’m trying to hunt down more cute icons like that too π
I didn’t know your mum’s name was Christine. Great name π
Ya! It’s funny ‘cos “Chris” is short for Christine, as it is for Christopher.. they have the same name, haha
oh man! we’re of the same age but you are so much more independent! especially in your finances! *ashamed*
Well, out of necessity, since I live in a different country to my parents π In retrospect, I’m glad I did though – it’s no fun being a spoilt only child who has no idea about the real world IMHO!
yes, it’s a good move. π
if you don’t mind..can i ask, how did you end up working in australia?
I lived here with my parents when I was young.. then moved back here again for uni, then got a job straight after at Microsoft so I just continued staying here π
i love that quote you have; i’m the exact same way! *grin*
i hope you’ll consider keeping me on your friends list… i don’t use my LJ except to comment, but i do have a normal website (http://lavendar.smartass.nu/), just so you don’t think i’m blank and faceless. hee.
but seriously, i LOVE reading your entries because it gives me insight into a completely different country and different ways of being. you’re just plain awesome! =)
Hey thanks for letting me know.. didn’t realise you were in Ontario, it’s gorgeous there. Maple syrup.. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Ooh, I love wearing Capris too! Wear them all the time. I think it’s perfect especially when you need something not too casual and not too formal. Or when you don’t feel like wearing jeans that day. So versatile, can either dress it up or down with heels or flats. π
I think capris are good for summer! And good for work too.. I’m so pleased to have ‘discovered’ a new look, haha. I’m a weirdo.
Those are one nice pair of capris!
But I think it might not fit me because I am kinda generous at the hips :\
I have big hips compared to the rest of me, and they do fit me! π
Hmmmm.. but you are really tiny! And yes, ultra slim legs!
Where did you get THAT from? Well i guess depends who you compare with, I guess.. tiny compared to Chris. Very average size compared to any other Singaporean chick π
I’ve been looking for capris for YEARS. I have the same issue that you do – they all have wide legs, and I have small-ish legs especially at my calves and ankles. I’ll have to go check out a pair of Ralph Lauren’s, because after trying on dozens and dozens I have found one other pair that look decent on me. So thanks for the idea! π
It was SO BAD trying on capris everywhere and looking like this big butt/thighs on top of skinny ankles/calfs. Thank goodness these are nice! I’m happy π Do check ’em out!
my problem with capris is that i have short pudgy legs so they look not long enough to be full length but not short enough to look like capris π sucks to be me!
I’m short too so I probably look squat in capris, but I like they so I DON’T CARE if people think I’m ugly, hee!
Spin The Bottle (but only with Chris)
lol, that’s quite an intriguing answer!
Hah. Ya, I’m very biased.. will only play with chris *grin*
hey girl..nice capris there π Anyway, remember me! I think I shd have given you my other blog addy (given to those in my friends list in LJ). Anyway, started writing back there again

Great clothes! Sydney sounds like a wonderful place to shop. Here I always go out with the intention of buying some new pieces and come back empty-handed. But have fun with your capris! π

gosh, i feel like i haven’t been here in so long so i scrolled down and updated myself. lol. congrats on your parents’ anniversary π yep, chai lattes are awesome. green tea lattes are pretty good too. i totally get how great it is to find a good pair of capris that actually FIT WELL. i have ones from banana i think. it’s from the petite section and still a bit loose. damnit.

I’m short too so I probably look squat in capris, but I like they so I DON’T CARE if people think I’m ugly, hee!
lol, that’s quite an intriguing answer!
Hah. Ya, I’m very biased.. will only play with chris *grin*
hey girl..nice capris there π Anyway, remember me! I think I shd have given you my other blog addy (given to those in my friends list in LJ). Anyway, started writing back there again
