i know what you mean about the tsunami disaster, and how it feels so strange and… surreal. to be happy in our own lives while all this is happening and devastating others so badly. it’s hard to know what to feel.
EXACTLY.. you feel guilty on the one hand, but then you think about it logically and it also doesn’t make sense to sit down and let life go by. as someone else said here, the best thing you can do is just get on with life!
In a way, it seems even more surreal that i know people there that were affected..

when I was in HK it was only like HK$10 for a pack of 4… I mean they’re cool but seriously… wow… what a rip off… some people… and hehe free stuff is always cool 😀

I got the ‘normal’ sort today though, finally found some.. SG$3 for 5 pieces, still kinda $$ but better than $9/piece!
You are really making me salivate with all those posts about the lovely food that you are eating. I am so craving for food from home and this is the last couple of weeks of this pregnancy. I am so jealous that you’re home and enjoying the food I’m craving!

You make me want to try Singaporean food SOOOOOO bad. I’m sure I can find a place in NY but what should I try? I don’t like seafood too tough or overly spicy foods.
try nyonya on grand st or penang in soho…and try something like char kuay teow or prawn noodles. mmmmmmmmm!!!

No, Singapore’s protected by Malaysian and Indonesia so it’s really fortunate – if it DID hit the whole country would’ve been flooded, it’s so small!

Eh, NY can be boring at time. I mean when you’re pratically born and raised here and haven’t been outside the state, you pretty much done everything that needs to be done.

yes…. the death toll is appallingly high. Red Cross is going to set up fundraising, i’m definitely going to donate. Beyond offering whatever financial or other help we can, there’s not much, and there’s no need to feel bad about living life in the face of such disasters, don’t you agree?
Yes i know what you mean.. it’s still a bit bizzare (and hard) to just continue going on and doing regular fun holiday stuff when you know thousands are really suffering, you know what I mean? Yet if you sit at home and mope, it’s not really helping much.. Wish the world was rid of disasters and horrid stuff 🙁
