I feel your pain! Believe me you don’t feel like a puppy! I’m only 22 and when a new girl started here at work who was in her 30s, I felt soooo weird trying to instruct her on what to do. She kind of gave me attitude about it. It was tough! It’s a very positive thing, though, when you think about it. You’re young and you’re sitting here training someone older than you.
It’s such a good feeling. πŸ™‚ Ha ha ha….

Starting off managing other people whilst you’re young is only an advantage in the long run. Think of it this way, you’ve gotta start somewhere and sometime. If the opportunities are there grab it with both hands. I see it as learning something new.

Stay positive and most importantly get feedback from your peers, manager and staff on how you’re going and don’t worry about making mistakes – that’s how you’ll become better at it. I’m sure you’ll do a terrific job.

Hm.. I see you point about being an advantage in the long run, etc. I should look at it that way, after all, it’s a cool experience hey πŸ™‚ At least I’m having fun at it!

that last sentence hit the nail in the head πŸ˜‰

And don’t worry, you didn’t sound insecure or unconfident. Just because you’re confident doesn’t mean you can’t still complain once in a while, it’s all about letting it out! πŸ™‚

Besides, being a young manager is great – not only do you know that you will have a great future ahead of you, but other people will feel more comfortable and have more fun around you, because you’re full of youthful energy and open to many more new things and unlikely to be a rigid old whiny windbags πŸ˜€

You know, I never thought about it that way.. you have a great way of putting things in a different perspective πŸ™‚ You’re right! I refuse to be a rigid old whiny windbag!!!! Hehehe

You know what, you’re one of the most confident people I’ve ever ‘known’. I have told hubby many times how I admire you because you are just so confident and full of zest πŸ™‚

Awww thanks.. it’s really nice of you to say that πŸ™‚ I dunno if it’s actually confidence per se, or just a lack of being able to be embarassed – because when you just don’t get embarassed about anything, you tend to have a more gung ho attitude about things πŸ˜›

Haha, I’ll bet a bowl of wanton noodles that when you actually hit the 30s, you’ll be wondering what the heck you were thinking during this post. But for now…yeah, I empathise. πŸ˜›
